The four candidates for the cover of NCAA Football 12 have been uncovered. As posted earlier the final choice will be determined via fan vote that will begin March 7th on Facebook. The choice will be made between Washington QB Jake Locker, Auburn DT Nick Fairley, Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray, and Alabama RB Mark Ingram.

Ingram as a former Heisman winner and with the backing of such a strong fan base would appear to be the front-runner. Locker could get support from the west coast and pull off an upset as the only QB. Murray comes from a program with a strong fan base but is the only one of the group that won’t go in the first round of the NFL Draft. Fairley could very well be the number one pick but plays the position that is the least glamorous.

After the previous year in real-life NCAA football, they need to add player arrests/suspensions/NCAA sanctions to the career mode. How much fun would the Road to Glory mode be if it included:

- the chance to take or reject performance-enhancing drugs
- the opportunity to participate in an off-campus brawl that may or may not result in a suspension/severe injury/death
- the choice between attending a big yacht party thrown by a NFL agent or enjoying the company of a school "hostess"
- Decker's suggestion of the e-mail deletion game
- The ability to decide whom in your family will take the blame for any "mistakes" you make during the recruiting period

Don't forget coach option to withhold information on players selling trinkets, Coaches decision to quit 2 years in a row, over signing recruits, head coach figureheads (aka the Bowden/JoPa watch) and allowing players to play in the bowl game as long as they promise to return next year and be suspended for 5 games for selling trinkets.

EA Sports held a developer chat yesterday and The Gaming Tailgate noted some of the news to come out of that with discussion having taken place regarding the upcoming demo for NCAA Football 12. There will be two separate matchups to choose from and five Nike Pro Combat uniforms available to unlock through play. The structure would be similar to last year which instead had four matchups and offered all of the Pro Combat uniforms.

The demo for the two previous iterations arrived mid-June and last year it was the day before E3 opened. This time around the convention takes place earlier in the month with the demo said to follow. Tuesday June 14th or 21st would then be the two dates most likely for the demo to fall on.

Announced via Facebook and Twitter, the NCAA Football 12 demo will be available on June 28.

The demo will contain two match-ups and allow users to unlock five 2010 Nike Pro-Combat uniforms (Miami, West Virginia, Florida, Oregon State, Alabama) for use in the retail version of the game. [The other five 2010 Nike Pro-Combat uniforms - Boise State, TCU, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech - will be available at launch for EB Games/GameStop pre-orders and made accessible for all later in the year.]

The match-ups within the demo have not been announced.
