I can't believe the judges liked Brett's "Light My Fire".
Steven really doesn't have much to say does he?

The gospel singer guy has the best voice of them all and should win, I just don't like the music he sings.
Paul mcDonald sounds like Adam Sandler singing a song using
one of his silly voices.

Whenever I see Paul McDonald, I fear that he'll sell out Holly Genarro to Hans Gruber.

I had to laugh at the awkwardness when Seacreast called Simply Red back over because he stepped out of the shot too soon. And he thought he was being called back for a hug.

Clint - please, no more, can't stand the dude.
Jovany - can carry the notes, but probably too mushy, not enough edge.
Jordan - sucked (did the producers convince him to pick that song to sandbag his chances? I suspect so.)
Tim - sucked (did the producers convince him to pick that song to sandbag his chances? I suspect so.)
Brett - terrible (the judges are on Charlie Sheen tonight with their praise). Plus the whole hickish androgeny angle didn't help.
James - fun and concert-like, rocked the hell out of the song, plus he got some pimped up stage production for his performance.
Robby - hated the runs he tried to sprinkle into the song. He reminds me of Flynn Rider from "Tangled".
Scotty - solid country performance. But he reminds me of a mash-up of Clay Aiken and Alfred E. Neumann.
Stefano - feels like a beatboy dancer turned singer, but he was okay. Decent stage presence.
Paul - Punch-Drunk Singer, far too distracting to watch, and the voice was so-so.
Jacob - needs to stay away from the lows, but looked oddly sophisticately androgenous. Mostly solid number.
Casey - didn't really enjoy his singing much, I think he's overconfident already, just too smarmy, and gave me this weird Will Ferrell vibe through it all.
Top 5 vote-getters (I suspect):
Jacob
James
Casey
Scotty
Stefano

God help me, but I'm really starting to like Jacob Lusk. He has a terrific voice and puts more into a song than any contestant I've seen. Still not a fan of that blubbering drama queen shit though. He looked a little like RuPaul out of drag tonight. Even if he's not in the top 5, he's getting in on a wild card for certain.
Brett is more than a little creepy. He is so not a shining star.
Worst by far was Paul McDonald. Just because a voice is different doesn't mean it's quirky. Sometimes it just sucks.
And, once again, do these people even listen to the songs they're singing? Because Maggie May is a song about a student who has been used and had his heart broken by an older woman. It's not meant to be sung with a stupid fucking grin on your face.
Why are they rushing into the top 13 by eliminating everyone in one week? In the past, it's been two guys and two girls kicked out for three weeks.
Steven Tyler is worthless. How many times did he ask the audience what they thought? Of course they're going to cheer.

I'm surprised that we have only one week to get to the top 12. I like the previous format better where 2 get eliminated every week. That said, the top 5 males will be the last 3 singers (Jacob, Casey, Paul) plus Scott the country singer and James the Glambert clone. I'd be shocked if any of them don't make it.

Just another bunch of guys I don't see hitting it big on the charts. And if they have to be on the show, could they stop all the screaming and wailing? In particular, I'm talking about that Lambert wannabe, the Luther wannabe and the sorry-looking Asian stereotype. And if you knew Usher wasn't the right song for you, why do it? DOY! That guy annoys me.

Strangely enough, the posters at Blabbermouth don't hate James Durbin...

It's funny, all I could think of was Ferrell's George W when Scotty was singing, he makes the same squinty expressions (with a dash of Alfred E Neuman as said).

I just watched his performance on YouTube. He reminds me of Sylvester. With some styling tweaks and performance tips, this guy could be a strong dance & electro-pop divo and compete with a lot of current stars that do the pop/dance routine. He sings better than any of them already.

I just don't see Clint making the top 5 in vote-getting, plus he did get the a-hole edit during Hollywood week.

Scotty is the one I've chosen to irrationally hate this year. He couldn't have been more disconnected from that song with that idiotic smirk the whole time, and he's just not very good anyway. Unfortunately, he's going to John Stevens us for most of the year.

What a horrible season this is gonna be. They can cut it short by eliminating most of these by just keeping Casey and James.

If they did that, Casey would compete against James, then we'd have a winner. Done. I'd rather have it this way so we get months of performances.

This wild card thing ... is it the top 5 vote getters, with the judges selecting an extra guy and girl to make it 12 starting next week?
I know Dialidol was inaccurate as hell last year (and will likely be more so now with more internet voting). But here are their rankings:

at Paul McDonald's performance. He looked like he was drunk.
I did like Jacob Lusk and James Durbin.
I don't know why the judges love Stefano so much. The performance seemed a little too Karaoke for me.
Interesting that they chose to go with the Large stage setup for the Top 24 instead of the small soundstage that they usually start with. I liked that the contestant introductions were really short and sweet.
I'm sorry for anyone who likes him, but I can't stand Brett.
I'm looking forward to the Girls performances tonight.

Is it weird that I just look at Scotty and want to throw a barrage of fists in his face? He's the worst thing I've seen on the show. He's got one trick and even that isn't impressive. His range is very limited and I guarantee every week will be the same type of song, with the same type of arrangement and the same type of cheesy mugging and camera grins. His performance was just uncomfortable and embarrassing to watch.

I thought everyone from him on did pretty well. Jordan or Brett needs to go.
