Videos playing in threads?

I just started to notice this today and it's really annoying me. Every time I go to open a thread the first post has an ad embedded that starts playing automatically. After they end it seems to go on to some longer video, I don't really see why there has to be obtrusive advertising like this in threads. Is this some new advertising thing that the site has started or is it only mine?

Edit: I'm dumb and wasn't logged in before and since I have been it stopped. I guess that's what was causing it. Feel free to delete this thread.

I'm logged in and I'm getting this stupid video on the front page and on review pages. Very irritating. Didn't playing chubby bunny lead to some kid choking on a wad of marshmallows?

Thanks for posting. It was happening to me, too. Logging in solved the ad problem.

EDIT: After logging in, it does happen on the main page for me as well.

I'm always logged in, and this happens every time I go to the front page and now it's showing up on review pages as well.

Same here. If these ads are preferred, the audio needs to be off by default. Most ads on other sites I see that utilize audio make it optional via click, but it's off by default.

Yep, same here. That needs to be muted by default.

Re: Videos playing in threads?

As long as DVD Talk has these autoplay ads, I won't be visiting anything outside the forums.

I also like to pop into the forums from time to time without bothering to log in. I won't be doing that anymore. Those ads are incredibly annoying.

Re: Videos playing in threads?

Hey guys,
If you find an ad offensive. We can have it pulled. We will need a screen shot and the domain name. Don't click on the ad as it only reinforces it's stay on the site. If you have any questions you can PM me.
