Man. I just checked and realized that The Simpsons episode about Angry Dad as an online flash cartoon came out nine years ago.
NINE YEARS AGO. I must be getting old. The time just goes.

Isn't "Angry Dad" Al's favorite show from 'Married With Children?" Maybe I'm thinking of some other "________ Dad" show...

Great episode. It was nice to see them revisit Angry Dad, but without having to rely too much on what made "I Am Furious Yellow" such a great episode in the first place. I also like how they sort of made fun of The Simpsons Movie there at the beginning a little.
My favorite part though was the portrayal of the Pixar creative team as a gang, rolling around on scooters in Hawaiian shirts.
Ricky Gervais's picture with “Do Not Allow This Man To Host” underneath was great. I just watched the episode of Seinfeld where George tries to get the guy at the calzone place to notice him tipping, so that bit was especially funny.
It was pretty cool to see them do shorts of varying styles (CGI & Claymation) but retain the characters having yellow skin. I loved Nick Park's line about being "more clay than man now."
Bart: "We can still order a replacement from the Academy right?"
Homer: "Pft, they're like five bucks on eBay."

It's episodes like this that keep me as a fan. The cameos from Gervais, Brand and JB Smoove were awesome, and the "shorts" they spoofed were very well done!

Liked the reference to George C. Scott in Hardcore: "For God's Sake Turn it Off!!"

Great episode this week. Cameos were great as were the various shorts. Two pretty solid episodes in a row now

The first episode I've watched in a while and I enjoyed it ... it actually seemed fairly topical for the Simpsons with the Gervais gag when it seems in the past that The Simpsons had about a 2 year delay on topical humor.

Added to my top ten best episodes of all time. Loved it. Where are all the Simpsons bashers?

This is the first episode I've watched in three years. I'm so happy I did, one of the best episodes and super clever. I loved all the call backs and the George C. Scott joke was amazing and very obscure. Gervais was gold as always.

I enjoyed it and never would have picked up on the George C Scott reference had I not read this thread. Pretty funny stuff, almost as good as his work in "Man getting hit in groin with football".

Great stuff. The Itchy & Scratchy cartoon alone had so many Hong Kong cinema references that I lost count.
Also it was a nice touch that Itchy & Scratchy were speaking real Chinese (in Itchy & Scratchy voices)

I haven't really watched the show in the past half decade but just happened to catch it the other night and really, a Hardcore reference? Awesome. I am inclined to start watching again just for that reason alone.

My guess is that since that was just a static thing in the shot requiring no new animation that it would be pretty easy to insert.

funny I should watch this before the Oscars, and to reiterize what other people have stated already - this is a "classic" episode - the jab at Pixar's 'Cars' was perfection
