Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Desperation Day" -- 02/14/11

Ted: "Mrs. E, we're running low on Sunny D!"
Mrs. Eriksen: "Is orange juice okay?"
Ted & Marshall: "No!"

---

I love when Barney makes stuff up and says, "It's a thing."

---

Marshall: "Mom, can you make us some PB&J for the road? ...with the crust cut off! What're we doing? I mean, we're men. Mom, leave the crust on!"

Robin: "You like Nora!"
Barney: "No I don't, she's gross. You like her. And think she smells like rain."

---

I really like the character of Nora, hope she sticks around. They've done a great job with Marshall's storyline about his father dying. Loved his dad freaking him out there at the end as he looked away at the road for a minute, lol. I know I've set it before, but this season has been absolutely perfect. Tons of laughs, lots of heart, and the show feels completely revitalized. Can't believe this is the same show we were watching last season, hopefully they continue the streak all the way into the finale.

Liked the chick showing up at Lazer Tag, but the rest of the episode was pretty terrible.

I loved the episode. And it still was heartwarming watching the Dad scenes.

I'm not sure about Nora though.

Marshall's feelings about his Dad the last couple of episodes have had a real ring of authenticity to them. I have been very impressed with that in particular. I liked the Nora character as well. As far as Ted and Zoe, I'm a little lukewarm on it.

Same here. We spent a lot of time in the car when I was growing up, and I'd always feel safe as can be when my old man was driving. When it was mom's turn, on the other hand...

Good stuff. One of those eps where I enjoyed all of the storylines for the most part, even Ted's.

They sure do. My relationship with my dad is very similar as Marshall's. Even though I live in a different state I talk to my dad almost every day and have projects that we work together by phone just like Marshall does in the show. The day it happens its going to be very sad
