Anyone know the TV standard for Spain?

A friend is trying to get a movie from Spain, but will a VHS tape from Spain play on an American VCR. I can't remember, but I thought Spain was on the PAL standard. If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

Spain definitely uses the PAL standard.
