Would you buy a Dreamworks Animation Holiday Specials Collection?

I would love to have the 5 specials that Dreamworks Animation aired on NBC the last few years on Blu and since they are only 22 mins each they could easily fit all 5 onto 1 single layer BD. Would anyone else buy a collected version of them or would you prefer single releases for each special?

Here is a list of the specials:
Shrek The Halls
Merry Madagascar
Monsters vs Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins From Outer Space
Scared Shrekless
Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special

I'd like a collection like that as long as it was only the Shrek specials. The others aren't worth watching.

Haven't seen any of those, but I'd buy Prep and Landing from Disney in a heartbeat.

Actually, I'd give this a shot for Madagascar and the Monsters vs Aliens ones.

I could see them doing something like this, especially if people have already had the chance to buy these as bonuses to the main movies (don't know offhand if they're included). It'd give them an opportunity to push the double-dip and also reinforce their brand a la the Pixar shorts disc.

Re: Would you buy a Dreamworks Animation Holiday Specials Collection?

We found Merry Madagascar on DVD being clearanced out for $1.00 at Walmart last year and indulged. I'm sure fans of the series dig it, but I wasn't particularly entertained by it. I'd have liked to have already bought Shrek the Halls, but I just cannot bring myself to pay $10 for a 22 minute long short, and Dreamworks hasn't dropped the price yet. So if Dreamworks wants to release such a box set, I can promise them I won't be buying if it's $50. $20, maybe, and even that's pushing it given that we're likely to watch it once a year at best.

Since I hate the Shrek movies and I could care less about Madagascar, I would hope that the Kung Fu Panda special would be included in a BR release for the sequel. But it will probably be included on a double dip for the first movie instead.

Seeing as how the Shrek specials weren't on the recently released Mega Shrek supposedly everything set, I'm not holding my breath on KFP.

That's funny, I feel the exact opposite. I don't think Shrek has been any good since Shrek 2.

Prep and Landing is Disney.

There's another full length coming this Christmas and then they'll all be bundled together with two more new ones as a movie (in theaters) around Christmas 2012 or 13.

I don't know why they didn't include Shrek the Halls, Scared Shrekless and Shrek 3D in the COMPLETE Shrek collection.

Maybe they'll put out a new set or just a set of the specials when the movies come out individually on blu-ray.

I'd buy that for a dollar. Maybe even $10.

Didn't care for most of those specials, but I have Shrek the Halls and Merry Madagascar in HD saved on my Tivo. I doubt I'd pay for a boxset that had all 5 specials.

Re: Would you buy a Dreamworks Animation Holiday Specials Collection?

Aside from Shrek the Halls I wasn't even aware these specials existed.

I'd have to see the others before deciding but I was actually surprised by how much I liked Shrek the Halls. I had every expectation that it would be a pile of crap when I started watching it in TV.

Re: Would you buy a Dreamworks Animation Holiday Specials Collection?

Not all Dreamworks, but I figured all these would be of interest:

Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury (11/15): BD + DVD Combo $18.99 @ Amazon

Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special(11/26): BD $10.49 @ Amazon

Prep & Landing (11/22): DVD Only $13.49 @ Amazon

It's a shame Disney isn't offering Prep & Landing on Blu. I'd have to see the Dragons and Ice Age holiday specials before I'd buy them.

Would want to rent at first since I haven't actually seen any yet. But want to see them.
