DVDs are purchased online for "too good to be true" prices.

We tested 5 online DVD companies/sellers from Amazon and other 5 from eBay to determine which ones are doing business with counterfeit products, by purchasing 10 recently released DVD’s from each.
See the results from Amazon below.
Two companies/ sellers that disproportionately failed on Amazon
Seller # 1: mango64 8 fake from 10
Seller # 2: 2easy2shop4you 7 fake from 10

Two of the DVD’s did not even play in regular DVD players, producing "wrong disc" error message. Other movies get pixelated randomly.
How to Train Your Dragon (Single Disc Edition) (2010) easy2shop4you mango64

Usually when something like this is done, there's a website with more details. Why was it done. How much was each item. What about the others you bought from? Pictures of the items? The items you bought? Links to their Amazon storefront/ebay accounts?

We all know there's counterfeits on amazon and ebay. Why throw away money buying 100 DVDs for this study? Perhaps there was no study. Perhaps you just had recent bad dealings/feelings with these two individuals/companies and decided to make up a fake study just to get back at them.

^ Once he has enough posts to insert a link, I have a feeling that we'll find out.

Re: DVDs are purchased online for "too good to be true" prices.

Why try to purchase Brand New, Just recently issued DVDs from the internet, unless you're an invalid, or in a nursing home, and can't get out the house, or perhaps no use of a auto, i'll give you that, but even then you could ask your neighbor, or your family member to locate the easy to find DVD title at one of the store markets that sell them. Dag, i've even seen recently issued, popular titles being sold at Food Supermarkets, so buying brand new, just recently issued DVD titles on line is a huge waste of time, and on top of that, these same people are confused as to why Video shoppes are being forced to close up, and shut down their businesses lately. On the other hand, DVDs that are purchased online that seem to be too good to be true, well, i have a couple to speak of. i primarily only deal with Collectible OOP DVD Titles, titles that can no longer be found in Video shoppes anymore. i've found over the last year and a half titles such as "Street Scene", "The Vanishing", "La Grande Bouffe", "Savage Streets", "Evil Dead II" : Dead By Dawn, "Raw Justice", "Swamp Thing" (Original Printing), as well as a host of other extremely difficult to uncover DVD titles for, in my opinion, severely affordable price tags. it does happen, you just have to be on the lookout, on your toes, with eyeballs wide opened! In due time, your patience is rewarded nicely! its worked for me numerous times, Thank the Lord!

If you read his other posts, he goes from somewhat intelligent to full retard. They're also almost always related to OOP titles. He's also done some trading, or at least promises to pay for things and then won't do it. At least that's what he did to a mod.

I don't get this. Is this thread to warn us that people sell bootlegs online? Uh....isn't that the second thing that people did with the Internet after it was created (after they used it to post porn)?

Thanks for the news, Cronkite!

Na, the 1st thing we did was pirate programs, write cracks (my start), write coders, write cheats, then move into the world of free phone calls. I can say I did not know about porn till 89 but that was on a BBS.

Movies did not really start coming out till the burners and the discs became cheaper, along with the speed of the net. I was one of the lucky one I had a T1 since 92/3.

We still do this. But your numbers are all wrong and really you setup the numbers to run this out.

You took new movies that just came out to run your test. Bad move (in my eyes and I get paid for this). You should take movies that have been out for sometime. Why? new movies cost about the same on Amazon as if if not more then a 3rd party seller. Even if they match Amazon price why would anyone buy from a 3rd party seller?

Given that. Yes it does happen on Amazon with 3rd party sellers. Unlike eBay, your not on your own. Amazon will give you back the money. If to many people ask for their money back. The seller will be gone and all funds will be put on hold.

Also you posted this info. Someone paid you for it*. They own the data. If you took the time to pay for this out of your own pocket? Then I would say you got burn by the 3rd party sellers on your list.

I have had problems with 3rd party sellers. Mostly not knowing how to count to two.

You kids with your new fangled gadgets that'll never catch on. I got introduced to movie pirates back around '85. Back then you met face to face...with pirate swords.
