Still one of the best in the business and sad to see him go, but I understand him wanting to retire after all these years.

Good for him. He said in the video on that site that it's been 28 years. I'm surprised he didn't decide to make it 30 years instead, like Johnny, but then again, what's he got to prove?

I don't watch the show much, but I think Regis has taken a lot more vacation time and a lighter schedule in the last few years, so they have had plenty of guest hosts. A big crop from which to pick a new host. It depends on who has the best chemistry with the audience and Kelly. Anderson Cooper wouldn't be a bad choice, if he decided to go that way in his career.
