Kind of a meh episode.
Not bad, but not great either. I thought the case got a little too convoluted after starting out somewhat interesting. I also hate cases that wrap up nice and tidy in what appears to be 1 full business day. When they found the dead body in the trunk at the Pier, those flies looked so bad. Totally added in later in post production.
It was nice seeing Reiko Aylesworth as Chin's ex-fiancee. They hinted at some interesting backstory about Chin's past with her while he was at HPD. I hope they bring her back and expand on it.
FYI, the next episode airs this coming Sunday directly after the AFC Championship, which starts at 6:30pm ET. It could start anywhere between 10-11pm ET/7-8pm PT for both East and West coast. I recommend checking your DVR's and padding at least 1 hour.

Also, what a coincidence the father of the guy who died in the car chase just happened to be a mechanic and happened to have the exact part that McGarrett needed to fix his Dad's car.
The grandson looked a little too cheery at the end considering his father died in a violent car crash just hours earlier....unless Gramps did tell him yet.
If your going to cast Tzi Ma on a show like H-50, at least make him a villain. I thought it was a wasted role for him as the Grandfather.

Did anyone else notice the mini-24 reunion this episode was? Reiko Aylesworth (Michelle) as Chin's estranged wife and the evil Chinese big bad as the illegal father?
Michelle's as gorgeous as ever.

Not to mention Daniel Dae Kim was Agent Baker on 24...and Reiko was on Lost....

That said, this show continues to grow on me. It's a bit campy and the cases to convenient (much like 80's TV) but it's fun.
We also thought it was hilarious that for several episodes in a row, the two leads had their first fight at the 13-minute mark, like clockwork.

I thought this episode was really good. One of the tighter scripts of the series. Yeah, the CGI stuff was weak, but Danno flipping out of the car was pretty badass .
That computer setup Five-O has is awesome.

I thought the case wrap up was fine. However, it would be nice if Hawaiian Airlines actually flew to Paris to be believable. I like how 5-0 is so bored that they can over take a case that HPD was already pursuing.

I did like the Chips discussion and calling each other Wilcox and Estrada.
that the whole case/investigation was solved over the course of half a day, which included a Governor's letter and finding the auto part. Then you have McGarrett and Dano questioning the chick at the airport....hope they don't need any of that conversation in court.
