Fist of Doom

The Cam/Mitchell storyline got too too weird and unfunny as it went. Everything else was great.

Loved Claire's look at Phil as she realized she was driving away with the speeder.

Was anyone else thinking about a wet T-shirt contest after Luke sprayed Gloria and Haley with the water gun?

Well this was def a great introduction to the show for me. I have the first season on dvd (got it day after xmas at Tarjay) but haven't gotten around to it. Loved the bit with the "slow down" then the licence plate in full then 'your neighbors'. Ed Oneil was great too, seemed like a nicer Al Bundy, but stll funny as hell. at the Steven Hawkings line. Question though, is the woman trying to learn how to ride a bike his wife/gf or something else. Also loved the end line with 'Teacher of the year'

Jay (Ed O'Neil) is married to Gloria (Sofia Vergara). Her son Manny is Jay's stepson, and Gloria is Jay's second wife.

Jay's kids are Claire (Julie Bowen) and Mitchell (Tyler Ferguson)

Mitchell is partners with Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and they adopted Lily in the premiere

Claire is married to Phil (Ty Burrell), and their kids are Haley, Luke and Alex (who I don't think appeared in last night's episode.)

I loved the look on Claire's face when she realized she was sitting in that same speeding car she was just chasing.

Very good 1st episode of the new year.

I love how right after Gloria says she needs some feminine and nurturing to teach her to ride a bike it cut immediately to her asking Phil.
