Curb your enthusiasm in syndication
Has anyone watched curb in syndication? I saw wgn is playing episodes at midnight. How much censored is the show? I can't imagine an episode like season sixs meet the blacks could be aired without a ton of cuts made. The entire cake story would have to be taken out which was the funniest part of the episode.

Cable stations don't have such strict content restrictions especially when they are showing something so late at night. As long as they clearly warn that the program contains profanity, "vulgar" humor, sexual situations and is only intended for mature audiences, they can show a lot. Still have to bleep the f-word.

WGN is airing the same edited versions that many syndicated networks are airing, meaning no swears of any kind, and also whole scenes are being removed in order to fit the show into 30 after commercials. Stick with HBO or the DVDs.

I happened to catch this episode in syndication. They just bleeped the word and blurred it out when they showed the obituary in the paper. It wouldn't have made any sense if you had never seen the episode.

I noticed Entourage was on syndication. The versions that air on Spike tv and the main cable channels, mainly edit out the more vulgar sex comments and the f word. and the network syndicated versions cut out everything.

Re: Curb your enthusiasm in syndication
This worries me. I can imagine basic cable and OTA channels (I was suprised to see CYE on WUTV Buffalo) must be reeling to find new syndie sitcom programming with so few of them being made by the nets so they turned to this.
I'm wondering if HBO/SHO will begin tailoring series to fit the syndie model. Basically reality fills OTA so all the old sitcoms go to premium and the risque stuff like CYE/Californication just disappears over time.
Even Matt "Joey" LeBlanc and one of the creators of Friends has a SHO deal...
