at them doing everything they can to keep from showing Impulse, Aquaman, Cyborg, and Zatanna's face at the funeral. I guess they didn't want to pay those actors.

After being away for a few years, I'm watching again for the final season.

Question: Was that a Phantom Zone device Clark used on Slade?

I think I spotted a representation of Martian Manhunter in there, too.

Personally, I'd rather they use stand-ins than having those actors appear on monitors in Watchtower.

Ha, true that.

Seconded. He was perhaps the best thing about this episode.

I was sad to see Hawkman go. Shanks was even better in the role than he's ever been. Really disappointing they killed him off. I hope the Legion appear again and bring a future incartantion of him along for the ride.

Ah yes.. the random "You're not going to see anything!!" Smallville concussion makes a return!!... lol

I like this ep but it also felt like a strange jump forward, as if I missed an ep where the VRA was building up to the point that they had a curfew and metal detectors going into news paper.. I'm going to guess that's due to last weeks ep being sort of a one off that broke from the whole main story line anyways..

Yeah I remember when I figured out the Black Canary was TJ on SGU. I think it's cool. Both DJ and TJ actors do/did a great job on Smallville with 2 of my Fave DC characters.

I had the same feeling. The fascist build up seemed to happen a bit fast

Re: Smallville -- "Icarus" -- 12/10/10

Loved the opening scene with Lois and Clark and the proposal. One of my favorite aspects of the show is their relationship and I'm glad it's continuing to move forward. Not to mention Erica Durance looked absolutely smoking hot in that tiny trench coat, short skirt and boots.

Other than that, I liked the episode. Not a huge fan of this VRA story arc, but this was alot more entertaining than "Patriot" 2 weeks ago.

Carter/Hawkman I'm not sure I understood what exactly happened at his funeral. That thing pops out from the ground and everyone is out cold.

The going theory is that the white thing is Hawkman & Hawkgirl's rebirth, since he said they are born "in light" or something

Re: Smallville -- "Icarus" -- 12/10/10

I'm also a bit confused about Slade and the "S" symbol thingy. So Clark sent him to the Phantom Zone? I can't think of anything else.

What I'm beginning to get annoyed with the series is that it's essentially using all the big Supes storylines/villains yet we have a sort of weakened Clark still in place. In pretty much all the DCU iterations of Supes he comes of age in his late 20's, and Welling is much older than that already. At this rate Clark won't become Supes until he's 40.

I really hope they wrap up the show and end it this season. There's really no need for another season at this point.

Uhhhh, I guess you haven't been paying attention, but this is the Final Season. They announced it last May when the show was renewed for season 10. And all the promos on the CW say "Final Season"

I have been paying attention and the producers have been saying that an 11th season isn't completely out of the question.
