Queen of Hammer Horror Ingrid Pitt (1937-2010) R.I.P.
Ingrid Pitt, the actress that starred in many Hammer Horror films such as Countess Dracula has unfortunately passed away aged 73. She collapsed a few days ago and was taken to a hospital in South London, sadly that is where she passed away.
She is considered the queen of Hammer Horror and quite rightly so, she will be missed but she shall live on, R.I.P. Ingrid Pitt you helped make Hammer Horror what it is.
Ingrid Pitt (Ingoushka Petrov) was born in Poland on 21 November, 1937 and got her break in Doctor Zhivago and went onto work for Hammer Horror Productions and well the rest is history, she became a cult figure and a queen of the genre, absolutely stunning and always a pleasure to watch.

The first movie I saw her in was the WWII adventure WHERE EAGLES DARE (1969), with Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and Mary Ure. She's pretty hot in that one, too, esp. when we first encounter her as a beer hall waitress. Even after she puts on the parka and joins the heroes, she's still hot.

What a life she led. She survived life in a Nazi concentration camp to become the most iconic actress in horror (suck it, Steele fans). Seeing that famous still from The House That Dripped Blood in Famous Monsters as a boy is what kick-started puberty for me. She may be gone, but the work she left behind is immortal.

Too bad. Found this video from a NJ horror convention in 2004 on one of the news articles about her. Warning:Shaky Cam-motion sickness possible. She seemed like she didn't take herself too seriously.
