Lego Pirates of the Caribbean - May 2011

So here's a thing: Disney Interactive and TT Games have announced LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game today.
The game, which will follow the adventures of Jack Sparrow and others from the movies will hit shelves alongside the May 2011 release of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides film. The title will feature characters and scenarios from the first three films, as well as the upcoming On Stranger Tides.
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, PC, and Nintendo DS. I expect it to play like all of the other LEGO (Insert Franchise) games, and I suppose that's not the worst thing that could happen.

Re: Lego Pirates of the Caribbean - May 2011
They do seem to be willing to crank them out when it comes to legitimate Lego properties most of the time, "Toy Story" was probably a no-go based on the TS3 game but it's pretty apparent that when Lego has the rights to something Traveler's Tales is there trying to turn it into a game.
edit: I'd listed that the video game rights are tied up with another studio but I forgot that Traveler's Tales will go through whoever owns the rights (Warner Interactive or Lucasarts so far) but I still doubt Telltale would cooperate with Traveler's Tales in the way those other two companies did either.

This could work. Keira Knightly already has the same body type as a lego person, and Orlando Bloom is just as stiff.

Looking forward to it. Time to start the obligatory "Lego (Insert Game Here) I want" posts:
I'll start:
The Matrix
Lord of the Rings

LotR will happen no later than when The Hobbit Part 1 hits theaters. Lego Hobbit probably around Part 2.

With Back to the Future you have the minifigure rights tied up with another toy company so it will never happen, and the only other case I know of that involved another developer ripping off the Lego format was when "Spider-Man: Friend or Foe" came out and sucked.

As for BTTF, it's difficult to turn it into a game because there's just not enough combat.

I love these lego games.. they are engaging enough for adults and easy enough so that your kids can play with too.

I'm a sucker for Lego games, I'll definitely try this one out.
Obligatory "properties I want to see made into Lego games":
The Social Network
Black Adder
The Importance of Being Earnest

Highlander
Evil Dead
Big Trouble In Little China
EDIT: Those turned out more serious than I'd intended.

Highlander's motto sure seems to be at odds with the way the Lego games are filled to the brim with playable characters.

I think I've had my fill of these games but I'd probably be down for a LOTR or Matrix one. However, I'd be all over a Halo one in a heartbeat.

Good chance we'll see Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 toward the end of next year, too. Lotta Lego in 2011, if so.
And I've also heard some completely unsubstantiated rumors that another Batman game is in the works, as well.

I don't know how they'd do another one, with no specific source to utilize for specific and iconic scenes/situations it already seemed like they had a hard enough time filling up a game with all the archetypical Batman settings (city street, amusement park, sewer etc.) but I'm pretty sure the Batman game was the best seller so I'm sure they'll find a way to milk it if they want.
