Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Bainne" -- 11/16/10

Tonight on The Young and The Panheadless:

Tig finds out he is actually Gemma's brother but wants to have sex with her anyway. In fact that makes it more appealing.

Jax decides, after wasting everyone's season chasing his son, Able is better off without him. Instead of actually taking responsibility and changing his life. Oh the angst.

PS Giving up d list porn stars and emotional turmoil is hard.

Opie starts swinging a folding chair WWE style and hits everyone in the head. He then declares "I am the most interesting character on the show, and now perhaps some storylines will focus on me."

Very nice Ropes Pierre.

I've found this one of the most disappointing seasons of TV ever, because of how much I loved the previous seasons. It's just been so pointless, dull, and the characters have become so stupid.

I thought the Season 2 finale was just a misstep, and the show would right itself. Now I fear that finale was the beginning of the demise of a once promising show.

Where's that thread about the worst dip in quality from season to season? I have a new entry, lol.

Seriously though, I can't believe how bad this season is compared to the last. There have been enjoyable moments, but nothing redeemable.

And I'm going to lose it if Jax leaves Ireland without Abel.

Agreed -- this is the clear winner to that contest. I find myself reminiscing about season 2 quite a bit this season. I may have shed a tear or two . Oh how the mighty have fallen...

I honestly hope that it was just the magic of teaser editing that made it seem like Jax left Abel there.

Yeah, I'm embarrassed to admit that I actually trusted Kurt Sutter to make the Irish storyline pay off. Last week's ep disabused me of that notion.

I hope this week consists of Jax running around the streets of Belfast screaming at everyone "Where's my son?!" Would be good for a laugh.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Bainne" -- 11/16/10

I think the larger problem with the season is that Jax is no longer the compelling character he once was, Clay isn't as as dominating or menacing, and Gemma has been completely neutralized. I genuinely don't care what happens to those characters. Tara either, she's become obnoxious and irrational and I can't stand her.

I'm much more interested in what's going on with Opie and his new girlfriend, the feud between Tig and the new guy, the battle over Charming, Chibs trying to rescue and reunite with his own family, etc. I'd also like to spend some more time with Alvarez and the Mayans. I'm just so over this family drama that the Morrow-Teller Clan have created for themselves.

While the Irish plot has been a little silly...it is not enough to drag the whole show down. There have been some interesting thoughts brought forth. Compared to last season though, it is certainly weaker.

Kurt Sutter's twitter feed assured us the Abel plot would end tonight. So that isn't a bad thing at all.

I have hope for next season, since I have this feeling that the end of this season is going to be huge.

This show can carry no credibility forward if they leave this baby in Ireland. Anybody willing to do that who is in a biker gang would lose the respect of the other bikers and would end up dead. Dead. Dead.

(I'm a few minutes behind)

ETA: Jax got those people killed. He's right. Fuck him. I am about 99% of the way to deciding I'm just done.

Just got to the John Teller letter scene...

Fuck John Teller, too. The ghost of John Teller should have stopped season 3 from happening.

Ok, I must've missed something. What did Maureen put in the one bag?

Oh ok. All I saw was her putting something in the bag, and didn't see what it was. Thanks.

If Tara ends up dead, it's her own fault. She had a clear opportunity to put a bullet in her abductor who planned to kill both her and an innocent. She could have taken the woman she cut to the hospital, too.

I actually hope she dies and all the stupidity dies with her. Maybe then Season 4 can not suck.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Bainne" -- 11/16/10

A fucking 5 minute montage swirling around while watching your kid and the adoptive parents? seriously? At least it wasn't Enya playing.

Tara cuts a bitch, has a gun on the guy, and doesn't shoot anyone? didn't she beat someone to death with a bedpan like 4 episodes ago? now she's a dumb weak pussy?

I like the appearance of the homeless sage chick. Apparently homeless chicks can really rack up frequent flyer miles between Charming and Belfast, and just chill at swap meets that sell nothing but baby clothes.

i bet Jax leaves the club in the last epi, and takes off his NS ring.

Check please.

My only hope is Unser will reign down some biblical payback and see that mayor wanna be taken out in cuffs over his crimes.

Wasn't this show cool only a season ago? How did it come to this?

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Bainne" -- 11/16/10

I just started giggling when Maureen was reading those John Teller love letters. Just ridiculous.

I'm still in for the start of Season 4. I guess I'm just a sucker, but this show was so very good at one point. I'll try and bail on the threads if all I'm contributing is discontent.

Well, the baby appears to be coming back with them, so I'm pretty much in for the rest and will come back for season 4. I'd just like to see signs of hope. Sutter has the ability to tell a good story. He just needs to make sure he does it next season.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Bainne" -- 11/16/10

I never thought I'd say it, but I actually hate this show right now. What a terribly convoluted, irrational, unnecessary season. I hate the main characters and I hate the writing staff. Seriously, these people need to be fired for ruining such a great show.

That scene in the market with the adoptive parents and Abel was ridiculous. So let's see, Jax basically abandons his kid. Maybe he would have thought about it some more and changed his mind, but we'll never know. We'll never know whether our main character, our supposed hero would have gone back for his son. And why won't we ever know? Because by some amazing coincidence Jimmy killed the adoptive parents, kidnapped Abel to use him as a bargaining chip, and thus more or less forced Jax to take his kid back. GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. That's our resolution? That's the way they decided to end this 11 episode fiasco? With our hero, Jax Teller, doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING?! Just, awful. But hey, as if none of us were tired of kidnapping yet, now Jax has to get back and rescue Tara. The lack of originality in this show is blowing my mind.

And I'm with you Jimmy James, I hope Tara dies. I thought it was awesome when she slit the girl's throat, but she followed it up with her usual stupid behavior. I mean, just shoot the guy! He had no problem kidnapping you and someone else, and was going to kill you both. And yet, you're going to sit there and bargain with him? I hope she dies and I hope she takes this crappy writing staff with her.

The only redeemable thing about this episode was Gemma holding that baby at gunpoint. That was hilarious. At least someone did something. And thankfully the Priest is going to die. That character sucked and was to blame for most of the confusion and bloodshed this entire season. He should've just given the kid back, problem solved. If I never hear him mumble another line again, it will be too soon.

In all seriousness, if I had to pick between FX renewing Terriers for another season and continuing Sons Of Anarchy for another three or four years, whatever Sutter has mapped out, I'd choose Terriers without hesitation. In fact, I'd give up another season of Sons Of Anarchy for just a single additional episode of Terriers.

The only reason season four of Sons Of Anarchy will be good is because of just how bad season three has been.

Well, maybe it will be a short walk from the Terriers offices to the SoA ones and some new writers can be hired. I'd approve of that. Hell, can we get at least one of the two principals of Terriers to cameo on SoA season 4?

If we're talking crossovers, I'd much prefer a Justified/Terriers crossover.

Yeah, one of the only enjoyable things for me this season was coming into these threads and ripping on the show along with the rest of you, lol.
