So this is the season finale. Does this show have an end date set? How far has it been renewed?
Not that I'm complaining. I've enjoyed this season, although it could be a little funnier. (More naked Nancy wouldn't hurt either.)

Re: Weeds -- Season Finale -- "Theoretical Love Is Not Dead" -- 11/15/10
and? Where to now?
I really does feel like the series finale.
But they have it billed as the season finale. But I can't see where they can possibly go with this now.
The main characters have fallen by the way side over the course of the past two seasons.
Weeds creator Jenji Kohan says: "It's the End of a Journey"
So ... opinions? Should it have been the end of the series? (I personally hate it when a TV series is run into the ground long past the retire date ... eg. Prison Break.)

The revelation that Nancy was only 14 when she hooked up with her teacher was a little creepy. I was thinking she was probably a junior or senior when it happened.
Of course, if a 14 year old buy hooked up with an older teacher, I would say "Niiicccee!"

Nothing happened this entire season. This show appears to have jumped the shark......

I thought it was the series finale. Felt that way. I'm with the rest that believe there's no where else to take this show.

The term "jump the shark" jumped the shark like 6 years ago. In any event, the show really jumped the shark in season 3. Not a ton happened this season, but I think it was easily the most watchable season since #2.

^ I agree. It was a good season.
I hope we get at least a little Copenhagen next year before the inevitable return to the States.

Solid end to the best season since season two. Nice to see Nancy put herself ahead of her family. It was also nice to see Shane actually showing some emotion and not wanting to leave his mom behind. Andy and Silas are still my favourite characters though. Sucks about Warren, but I didn't expect him to make it out of the United States.
I guess they had a decent plan, but let me offer another. Put Andy, Silas, and Shane on three different flights to three different European airports. Andy has Stevie for obvious reasons and Nancy has a ticket on an alternate flight. If nothing goes wrong, then they all get on another flight to the same second destination. However, if Esteban shows up then all they know is Nancy's flight information and that Stevie is on some flight in the airport, and they'd have nothing to leverage other than Nancy's life. Obviously Silas showing up after the fact sort of gives them leverage, but that plan seems a little better than having them all in the same place like sitting ducks.
I thought it was funny seeing Esteban ask for any ticket, he didn't care where. That seems like such an obvious "no no" at an airport, and I can't imagine Esteban is that dumb. Guillermo and his running shoes were funny.
I do wonder where they're going to go from here though. I mean, she confesses to killing Pillar, but obviously didn't. Will the government then learn that Shane did it, but since he's out of the country, be unable to get him? And what will happen to Stevie now with his mom in custody? Although, I imagine once she is in custody she can say that she didn't really kill Pillar and staged the whole thing to escape Esteban (which she did) and can then testify against him and probably get immunity.
I noticed Jenji Kohan had a cameo in this episode. She was the lady that walked near Esteban, Guillermo, and Nancy, right around the time the one lady asked if she was okay.

Good end to a solid season. I have no clue where this goes from here, (Prison Break: Nancy Botwin??) but I'm curious.

This, friends, is NOT what the street drug industry is like.
Thanks for clearing that up. I'm sure most people in this thread were confused.

Damn, what a waste. Can't believe they actually carried/still carrying that Guillermo/Esteban storyline longer than they were in Agrestic. I assume the producers must like it but it should have ended a few seasons ago.

Not surprised by the ending; I don't know what else they could have possible done. This really should be the end, though. Unless they decide to go crazy outside the box and send the family to space, where Nancy could deal on the intergalactic drug circuit.

I'm assuming next season will be the last season... at least that's what I'm praying for.
I have to believe that somehow/someway the series finale ends with Nancy back in the 'burbs with her family and holding down a regular 9-5 job that she should've gotten in the first place.
I'm holding out hope that it ends with Nancy going to prison and getting shanked in the shower - giving the viewers who stuck with the series past the second season two small pieces of compensation... Nancy's death and one final nude scene.

I'm with you. The only way this show can truly redeem itself to me is if Nancy dies in the end. She's an awful person, has ruined tons of lives, and she has to pay the price.

My theory: Nancy turns states' evidence against the Mexican mob and doesn't serve any time. She enters the witness protection program and is set up in an Agrestic-like community.

The show is not going anywhere. The ratings are still as high as during season one.
So unless Jenji insists it's over Showtime will keep it around.
