What's up with BD Live?
Is it usually hit or miss in order to access it?
I wanted to access the original The Wolfman movie from the remakes Blu-ray. It seemed like it was loading, took forever, but I logged in to Universalhidef, at one point saw opening credits, but it stopped and never got back, i played with it for an hour and never got it to work.
i tried Tremors free movie from Scott Pilgrim Blu and that worked fine.
i have a decent connection speed, always get 4 stars with Netflix, have a flash drive in Sony BDP player and couldn't get Wolfman and it is expiring soon.
is it typically hard or is it me or what?
thanks.

BD Live is an atrocious piece of trash that usually offers nothing worthwhile. Oh boy, I can access trailers and text info about the movie? No thanks.
Even if they do offer something actually worth checking out, BD Live causes so many problems on so many machines (or titles) that it's not worth having on anyway. So many people come on to forums such as this and they say, "Oh man, my movie won't load." Then they turn BD-Live off, and then the titles work fine. What a broken piece of technology.
Ah well. I guess I'm saying it's not just you, BD-Live just sucks.

Not exactly BD-Live, but I had trouble accessing Fox's "Live Extras" (which is also worthless). After I tried getting out of it, it seemed like my player just froze. I couldn't eject the disc or turn it off so I had to unplug it. Then later, I put in one of the Alien discs and it just sat there and again, seemed to be frozen up. After giving a couple of minutes I again unplugged the power cord and tried it again, this time disconnecting the player from the Internet; lo and behold it loaded.
In regards to BD-Live, I never use it as my experience is 1. there's little worthwhile to see (I did, however, use it a couple of times for live commentaries) and 2. depending on which studio, it seems to take forever for it to even load.

Re: What's up with BD Live?
Same thing happened to me with Tropic Thunder. I started to watch the "full mags", watched part of one, hit pause, got distracted, came back 1 hr later and it wouldn't play. I re-started my BD player and re-loaded the disc, same problem. I tried this off and on for about 2-3 hrs with no change. I tried it again the next day and everything worked fine. I think another disc (maybe The Hangover) also had similar problems (had to come back it it many hours later). Plus, it takes forever to load BD-Live. Since I can stream HD fine from the player, it's not my network connection. It has to be the implementation of BD-Live, probably DRM junk.

I've yet to see anything worth going through the trouble i always hear about. Playing with it for 2 - 3hours to get it working? I'll throw it out the window before I mess around like that.

BD-Live is a good candidate for Sony's Stupid Piece of Shit That Doesn't Fucking Work.

Re: What's up with BD Live?
I've found some interesting stuff on there, but nothing that couldn't have been put on the actual disc if not for the gimmick. Then the only stuff that was added later (part of the concept, right?) was trailers for different movies.

Well, Video Settings -> BD Internet Connection -> Confirm will make it so that you're prompted to allow a disc to connect rather than it automatically trying.
