I know Best Buy had done that in the past, when you'd buy an item that was on ad for BF but a week or two early. Most retailers have stopped doing pricematching that lower BF price, though, right?

I don't think that they do. If they won't then I will just rebuy it and return it with the original receipt within the next day or two.

This is the best way to go about it, as most retailers won't offer you the price difference on previous purchases. Just make sure you have your original pre-Black Friday receipt.

Yep, even if they say they won't do it, I imagine you can do a return/immediate re-buy. Although didn't one retailer once allow no returns at all on Black Friday?

Just remember, that some items like appliances and computers have a restocking fee if you plan on doing a return/rebuy. Even if technically they are not restocking it, they will charge the fee.

I would try to get the adjustment first however. But if they tell you no, then don't get too pissy as you are essentially going to make more work for them.. Unless the item you want to pricematch is out of stock. Then i would have a fuss with it.

The restocking fee's are usually charged due to those items that have been opened, and thus they pretty much have to cut the price (openbox) to sell it again.

You wouldn't have to return it on Black friday.. you could return it whenever, as long as it's within the stores return guidelines.

If I "pre-bought" any item thinking to get the BF price, I would have it in the store on BF with old receipt to be safe. They'd have to be real jerks to deny an adjustment in that situation, and at a minimum would almost have to let you do a return/re-buy.

Actually, I think you're partially wrong there. Some of the companies changed their policies where they don't pricematch BF prices. That's why you have to at least threaten to do a return/rebuy.

That's basically what I was saying. You would still have to buy or go into the store on BF to get that price. But if they wouldn't pricematch the pre BF buy.. then all you would have to do is buy it again during that BF sale.. then you could return the item with your original pre BF receipt at anytime within the specified return period.

What'll most likely happen is that if you return something on Black Friday during the "on sale" time frame, that item will sit behind the customer service area until the sale is over. Stores are onto people who play the pre-buy/price-match game on Black Fridays, and typically disallow such tactics. But other retailers, like Wal-Mart will allow you to use anybody's Black Friday ads to get the lowest price advertised for the "on sale" period on Black Friday (typically 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., or something like that), but something it's tough to prove that is being sold in one sales flyer is the exact same thing you want to buy at Wal-Mart (due to non-matching product numbers, etc).
