The Julie stuff is just so out of place. It's almost like they didn't have enough to make an episode so they are just throwing in a little bit of Julie at college (and it's amateurish soap opera writing). Meh.
The rest is all good, however.

Pretty powerful stuff with Vince and his father and the interaction with Coach Taylor in his office.
Agree about the Julie stuff, just seems like they're trying too hard to keep her on the show somehow. It's been good to see some actual football games going on this season too, although how many times can you really have a last second come from behind win as time expires like that?

As much as I agree that the Julie stuff doesn't seem to belong, I still love this show and am going to miss it when it's off the air.

Almost a week late watching this, but this was a pretty solid episode. The scenes with Vince and his father were really emotional. Michael B. Jordan IMO is a star in the making. The guy has charisma and presence. I hope he gets alot of offers in TV and film. The football scenes were awesome and honestly, I think Vince, Luke and this team have already made me forget about West Dillon.
The Julie stuff with her teacher is definitely out of place. They are trying way too hard to give Aimee Teegarden material to justify her regular status. I think it would have been better to keep her as a recurring character and occassionally check in on her at school.
One thing that did bug me. Wasn't Jess an East Dillon cheerleader? Now she's an equipment manager??
