How do stores get exclusives?
I was wondering how stores get exclusives for DVD/Blu-Ray releases?
Such as unusual cases, figures or bonus discs.
Do the stores compete against each other to carry an exclusive and bid on the right or do they just have some sort of agreement/license with the studio to do these?

Shipped in a box on a truck, just like everything else.
Seriously, they make deals with the studios for them. Usually the studio/production company will have an idea and offer it to a store. It gives the store something extra to entice people to come into the store.

It is not just in video. You'll also find it in music. When I had a music store, Walmart and Best Buy were notorious for offering exclusive buys. What's worse.....sometimes at a price lower or the same what I had to pay wholesale!
