DVD Talk review of 'My Favorite Spy'

I read Stuart Galbraith IV's DVD review of My Favorite Spy at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=44673 and...

there was a reference to the chase scene in Abbott and Costello's "In Society". That chase scene was actually taken from W.C. Field's film "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break" and reused by Universal. It was also sort of ripped off in a chase scene in the James Bond film "A View to a Kill".

I was aware of this but, if memory serves, the bit with the fire truck (at the Barham Blvd. exit of the Hollywood Freeway, not yet open to traffic when NGASAEB was made) is quite short, while the firetruck chase is extended considerably in HIGH SOCIETY. However, it's been several years since I've seen either film, so my memory is a bit hazy.

I don't know, but I don't think Abbott & Costello added enough insert shots to claim any ownership of what I think is one of the greatest car chase scenes in movie history. It's certainly the most underrated chase scene I can think of.
