odd you just posted that. I just posted a favorite Australian music thread not having seen that. I think the fact that the voters were Australian had a lot to do with it. All the bogans were voting acca dacca

Seems difficult to take this seriously when Hanson doesn't even make the top 10.

Very entertaining band but nowhere near the best in the world.

I like mid AC/DC, not too much from the early or the recent years. From say...Let There Be Rock through Fly On The Wall. With a handful of singles from outside that span.
A bell curve, and if the next album is as good as Black Ice maybe the curve will start going up again...

Re: AC/DC the best band in the world?

cdollaz mentioned Hunters & Collectors in another thread. Not sure how I forgot to mention this band. "Human Frailty" is one of the best recordings of the 80's. Saw 'em live in London and it was a concert-going highlight. (edit... cdollaz mentioned them in THIS thread... I meant to post this in the Aussie thread, but I'll just leave it here).

Also love this tune (even with the Gang Of Four rip)

I love that song they wrote. Maybe one day they'll write another, so they don't have to keep recording it over and over again.

You left out this part

Pink was named music's leading lady by Australian voters, leaving Lady Gaga, Madonna and Britney Spears in her wake.

Michael Jackson was heralded the best male artist ahead of Justin Timberlake, Bob Marley and Kanye West.

I sure hope not! That "song" is so perfect, why mess with it and record new songs!

Some things should never change: AC/DC, Motorhead, Jim Jones Revue, etc...

There's no need to change perfection.

And every single "artist" mentioned in your post are examples of why the public just doesn't know anything.

SOMEtimes they DO get it right. Like when they picked AC/DC as the best band.

Actually, I'd vote for Pink if those are the only choices.

I wouldn't even consider Kanye one of the top 4 rappers of all time, let alone male artists.
