Finally got my surrounds hung, and going to pick up Avia and a SPL meter tonight before watching T2. I noticed that when setting individual speaker levels with the VR-407 (via the Sound button on the remote), it only lets you change center, surround left, surround right, and subwoofer volumes. Left and right main levels can be changed, but only through the Setup button, and only with the receiver's test tones.
How should I go about setting levels for all the speakers with tones that are not from the receiver (ie: Avia or VE)? Can I just change the master volume to set left main and assume that right main will be the same? Thanks for your help.

This is just my oppinion (I'm fairly new at this HT stuff), but what I'd do is set the two mains to reletively the same using the Kenwood signal. Then all other settings will be nore or less adjusted reletive to the mains.
