Written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely, the story begins with the Man of Steel (Denton) oversaturated by radiation during a rescue mission near the sun, accelerating the degeneration of his cells. Bruce Timm is exec producing, and Sam Liu, who helmed the DC animated film "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths," is directing. Dwayne McDuffie, a comics scribe who also penned "Crisis on Two Earths," wrote the script.

Meh, I'm assuming this has a Blu-Ray release as well.
It is indeed one of the best Superman stories ever made, but half the appeal and innovation comes from Quitley's unique style & unmatched sense of scope. Once that is taken away it hurts the story somewhat & I'm sure this will have the typicaly DC animated style. If Grant Morrison was writing the script I would be excited but seeing someone water down such an innovative story into a 90 minutes film doesn't really have me interested.

For once I would LOVE to see an animated movie from DC that is as long as a feature length movie, if the story warrants it. I get the feeling this warrants it but we won't get it.

Commentary with Morrison?
Lord they're gonna need subtitles. I've spoken to the man at comic cons. The accent can get VERY thick.

Cover is nice. I have a feeling the movie isn't going to be as good as the last two have been. Wish they'd gone for that Quitely style in animated form.

Agreed that the cover looks nice, and that I wish they went with the same art style as the comics. However, if the movie follows the comic, it can still turn out very good...

Re: All-Star Superman (Spring 2011) - New DC Animated Feature
Just watched it. Its a middling effort in every sense of the word. I wasn't a fan of Superman's voice work. Lois comes off as annoying and kind of unlikeable but thats due more to how the character was written than voice acting. Animation wasn't as good as the last handful of DC animated titles. I found Lex's story to be of more interest than the main story. His scenes with Kent in particular were very good. It seems like they tried to cram too much stuff into one feature though. The mini-arc with Sampson was pointless and could have been left out.

Dwayne McDuffie, who wrote the script for the All-Star Superman adaption, passed away. McDuffie had been a comic book writer and editor for ever twenty years, and was one of the co-founders of Milestone Media.

Does Target have the bonus episodes they have released with their previous animated films? I noticed the Futureshop exclusive listings has:
"This exclusive version includes bonus 2 episodes from Superman: The Animated Series Feeding Time and Absolute Power."
Thanks

/\ Yes, I noticed those episodes come with the BR, but my Target didn't have the 2 disc edition, although it is safe to assume that they are included.

On the Target BD two disc version, the BD disc includes the episodes "Blast From The Past, Part 1" and "Blast From The Past, Part II". The DVD/Digital Copy disc includes the episodes "Feeding Time" and "Absolute Power". It may be the same with the 2-disc DVD.
