Blind Musical Taste Test #12 - Blues/Rock

Here's an artist who is very well respected regionally, but outside of his home area he flew under the radar (unlike his brother, who is in a well known band). Sadly, this artist passed away last year with little notice. He released a few albums, but these two tracks are from the same album.

Well it should be obvious to everyone who this is just from your description. I recall not exactly liking this record when it was released; maybe it felt too slick for blues-based music. Hearing it again makes me want to give the whole thing another spin. But I've always been of the opinion that music like this is best heard live rather than in the form of a studio recording.
