Sons of Anarchy - Season 3 Discussion [Spoilers for Seasons 1 & 2]

I (or whoever else decides to take the initiative) will create individual episode threads, but I thought people might want to discuss their general thoughts/predictions for Season 3. The new season premieres Tuesday, Sept 7 at 10:00.

Official site.

Obviously, the following links are a little bit spoilery.

Fist of Doom= It's all you my man!

Looking forward to season 3 as well. I read Kurt Sutter's twitter updates and he's fucking hilarious. I think he just mentioned that they started working on episode 13.

In fact, here's one of Sutter's updates from last night:

313 production draft out. Head is still sore. So is my asshole. Doesn't anyone use lube anymore?
If you don't know who Kurt Sutter is, he's the creator and Executive Producer of the show and also plays Otto (the guy who got his eye gouged out in prison)

Also married in real life to Katey Sagal who plays Gemma.

A great show. It's going to be tough for it to top last season, but looking forward to finding out.

I hope they can make up for the moronic stuff that permeated the final episode last year. I've loved everything up to that point. Super excited to see them get back on track.

Re: Sons of Anarchy - Season 3 Discussion [Spoilers for Seasons 1 & 2]

I'm shepherding my wife through the DVDs now. I had to go through season 1 alone to catch up for 2, and she of course got interested in Sons after watching Justified this spring (more because it kick started her interest in TV again than for any other reason).

I'd like to see Stahl run her course relatively early in this season. After last year, I don't think her character has staying power as a permanent enemy of the MC. My guess is somebody will supplant her and propel the story forward.

Yeah that shit with Gemma and the baby were both kind of "blah".

I think probably the concern with the last episode stems from how they had Zobelle for the taking and then just left him at the news of the baby. It was weak.

Re: Sons of Anarchy - Season 3 Discussion [Spoilers for Seasons 1 & 2]

I loved all of Sons of Anarchy until the season finale last year, which I thought was weak sauce, with mind numbingly stupid plot holes. But, I have faith that Kurt and crew can right the ship and I eagerly look forward to the new season.

It was many problems. That's one. The Stahl stuff is another. The weak ending of the Henry Rollins stuff. There was so much that was either anticlimactic or just plain stupid and out of character. I do have faith though.

Yep, same here. I thought the S2 finale sucked, but otherwise it was a stellar season. I do like the things they set up for S3: Zobelle coming back, the Irish chapter coming into play, Jax and Clay's truce, Gemma on the run.

I have a feeling this will be an intense season.

Yeah, I have to agree with the sentiments about the shitty finale; Caught the show last year and it was building up to a very awesome ending and it was completely different in terms of how the characters' behaviors were, like the scene at the convenience store.
