While DVDTalk is a great forum which I have been happy to participate in for the least year, this forum is not the best place for FPTV info. There just isn't enough of a critical mass for good solid information.
Going FPTV can be done in the $4,000 range, but most systems usually only start at the 8K range for the projector. Then you need at least a line doubler, external scaler, switching device, cables, a screen and possibly a component to RGB adaptor.

I have found the AVS CRT Forum to be very good. Many of the participants are expert installers and persons involved in the industry.
