that opening standup bit was so awkward.
I'm pretty sure the actor playing the dentist was Milton from Office Space, and he did an excellent job being creepy.
Finally: anyone who's afraid of going to the dentist is a pussy

And I agree, fear of doctors and dentists makes no damn sense!

They took a page out of Seinfeld with the dentist molesting patients. "So he violated you... big deal!".
The series definitely owns the crown for awkward dialog/situations... whether it's in the standup routine or the skits.

This show is genius. It's like some nightmarish version of a 70s Woody Allen film (complete with a redheaded protaganist). The dentist visit was so wrong and so hilarious at the same time.

Hot damn do I love it when I get to see some Stephen Root action, even if FX seems bent on him removing his pants whenever he comes on a show.

I am so glad my wife didn't watch this episode with me, because she would have absolutely hated that bit and probably chastised me for watching the show. I understand that it's all part of his shtick, but boy was that getting awfully close to the line.

The episode as a whole was uneven and had that uncomfortable moment, but that banana scene was absolutely hilarious and bordering on brilliant comedy. Balsy stuff from Louie. You won't find too many male comedians willing to go that far for a laugh. That's another thing I dig about this show. It doesn't always work and some moments are way better than others, but it does often surprise me by going to places I wasn't expecting. I give Louie props for that right there.

Though I thought the child sex stand up bit was eh, I expected it, after all it's Louie C.K. same guy who calls his own daughter an asshole in his stand ups, but none the less, he's fucking hilarious.

Anybody know what the fuck is up with the DVD release? Amazon's fake preorder page has been static for ages.
Since nobody has the balls to air this in Canada the discs will be my only legal way to watch this and my panties are getting in a bunch with the delay.

Thanks for the fyi on S2. I dunno about series coming out on disc shortly before the new season (The new Futurama just came out a week or so ago for example) but it's good to read it's coming back for another season.
