Re: DirecTV and AMC HD
DTV has gone this far....they'll wait until the end of the Mad Men season before they put it on (probably banking on a cheaper subscriber rate than they would have paid a month ago).

I know all the Direct Tv people on the board want AMC HD for Mad Men and Breaking Bad. But they have a horrible habit of stretching their movies, instead of actually being shown in HD.

Glad I'll be able to catch the remaining MM episodes in HD.

Re: DirecTV and AMC HD
I'm making the (long overdue) switch from cable to Directv next week. The only thing I am bummed about is that this Sunday will be the last HD episode of Mad Men for awhile (likely this season). Like sporting events, Christina Hendricks was made for HD viewing.

Just a bump up. Someone from DBSTalk (who is very in the know) indicated this should be coming to DirecTV by Labor Day. God, I hope that's true.
So we might get the last few episodes of Breaking Bad in HD. At least it is in time for Walking Dead.

I don't disagree, but if you see who posted the info over there, you'll know it's legit.
Apparently, they said it would take up to 18 months for implementation once Tru went to HD. I believe it's only been about a year or so since they made that switch (might be off on that), so it may be a bit longer until we see that in HD on DirecTV.

Now if they can just get BBCA in HD, that would complete my priority wants.

Re: DirecTV and AMC HD
To this point I wanted 2 stations in HD
AMC and BBC, but now they've added Universal Sports, so I also want that in HD..
So I was at 2, went to 3, then back to 2.
I'm 99% satisfied. Esp as there I only watch Mad Men on AMC, and don't watch BBCA, but want it.
I choose not to watch shows on those channels.

Yeah, I don't currently watch AMC, but the main reason is I have enough to keep me happy in HD without it. As soon as it is in HD, a few AMC programs will make the rotation and force some lesser ones out that only make the cut now because they are already in HD.

In addition to The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, the new Western, premieres in early November.
If I could see both of them in HD before the year is over, that would be fantastic.
