Hopefully it won't have the EE that plagued the HD DVD.

Also, Tremors was a 90's film.

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

i still don't get why studios don't just release a box with all the films from a series on BR instead of just the original. They could do the entire Tremors film series on 2 BR50. i am still irked that they didn't release Ghostbusters 2, Bad Boys II, Men in Black II

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

I just watched my Tremors DVD and bemoaned the fact that it wasn't anamorphic. I'll cross my fingers on the picture quality and buy it on day one if it isn't too hideous.

I wouldn't mind having the second film on Blu as well. As for the others, I didn't much care for them.

Let's all hope Universal won't just port the HD DVD release (which will likely happen). It's as bad as the 'remastered' Predator BD. EE/DNR all over the place.

If they do port the HD-DVD, as the OP mentioned, the version of Tremors in the Tremors Attack Pack is anamorphic. The only downside (maybe) is that you lose most of the extras from Tremors 4.

What? Why would anyone care about the extras from Tremors 4, a DTV movie that came out a decade later?

Other than the original, it's the only one with extras. Universal dropped 75% of them (but not all of them) because at the time the Attack Pack debuted, Tremors 4 was still relatively new, and I guess they were afraid of hurting sales for the stand-alone disc.

I've never watched Tremors 4, so I can't say whether or not it would bug me. I did get the stand-alone 4 DVD from a grocery store for a dollar, though.

But Universal is only bringing the first Tremors to Blu-ray...which will be a port of the HD DVD (most likely) which contained all the extra that the Attack Pack has (I have it - but does the standalone Tremors 1 disc have more extras?). 2/3 on the Attack Pack had a Trailer and 3 included a Making of. 4 has a Making of and a Commentary track. Without actually popping the disc in, it looks like the stand alone of Tremors 4 comes with some Deleted Scenes and an extra featurette (comparing the two DVDTalk reviews).

Dang, didn't know that. Serves me right for not watching what I buy immediately.

Luckily I only paid $5 for it.

Well, what I had been saying is, if the Blu-Ray is a port of the crappy HD-DVD and there are some Tremors fans still stuck with the non-anamorphic Collector's Edition, there is a better option.

Only Tremors 4, sorry. To lay it out more clearly:

The difference between the stand-alone releases is that the Tremors in the Attack Pack is 16x9 enhanced while the stand-alone is non-anamorphic. Tremors 4 has more features.

The other two lose negligible things like cast bios and filmographies. Trailers should still be included.

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

I want Tremors on Blu-ray. The main thing I hate is that they're only releasing the first one on BD. I have the DVD Franchise Collection with all 4. All 4 are Anamorphic. Bad thing about the Franchise Collection in that its 2-disc flippers. I hate flippers. I also have individual dvds of Tremors 3 & 4 which both are Anamorphic. The individual Tremors 2 is not Anamorphic. So unless they release Tremors 2 on BD or DVD Anamorphic, I'll have to hold on to the Franchise Collection.

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

I have the aformentioned releases on HD-dvd (picked up very cheaply) and in the franchise collection, so I willl wait until the blu is reviewed before going and picking it up or not

One of my top 20 films of all time, always loved Tremors

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

The cover doesn't include the "Perfect High-Def Movie Experience" phrase at the bottom. Probably a wise marketing move.

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

I hope they'll change that and put it back, though. I like the uniformity of Universal titles, and it will bug the shit out of me if it's not there.

Re: TREMORS worms its' way to Blu-ray!

That's clearly "ad sales" art that will run in Best Buy circulars, where they've emphasized the title so that even if it's small, it can be seen. I imagine it will look like every other Universal Blu when final art pops up.
