Is Gulliver's Travels worth finding?

I am a huge fan of old animation and I just came across this
http://www.amazon.com/Max-Fleischers...9151710&sr=1-1

Now I have done a little research but i wanted to know if this is worth searching for on BR or if I should just wait for a hopefully better version

Re: Is Gulliver's Travels worth finding?

How many threads will you make today?

And a simple search here would have netted you a review:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/36893...ivers-travels/

and a thread already created for it:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/hd-talk/543...t=gulliver%27s

the answer is avoid it. It's probably one of the worst Blu-rays ever produced.

How are you searching? Because you might be doing it wrong.

In addition to the actual DVDtalk review that Gizmo posted, and the thread about that review, there are several other threads about the release.

Did you not find any of them? And why start a new thread when you could have posted in any of those six threads?

Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help since you must be missing something.

I must be, I click the search function above and nothing showed up. I was using the one without the pop-down arrow

It is a frigging nightmare, all the different search buttons all over DVDTalk. And they all perform slightly differently. When I'm king, I'm going to fix it, so don't worry.

Yeah, I just tested it and the way that search function works isn't very helpful.

I always do this:

First, anytime i have a question about a certain movie or DVD/BD, I search for a DVDTalk review of it. There are multiple ways to do this, I probably don't have to explain, but I usually use the middle search area near the very top of every page. Click review to make sure that search option is set, type gulliver, hit enter.

To search the forum, my opinion on the best way is to click the "advanced search" tab on that search button with the down arrow, make sure "search titles only" is the option under "keyword", then type what I'm looking for. Searching "gulliver" that way brings up about 6 threads, some very specific to that BD release.

Edit to add more clarity than needed: slight edits, making my email notification incorrect if you were testing it from that info

If all else fails, Google "_______ dvdtalk review". You can toss in a "Blu-ray" to be more specific.

I don't think you'll find a better version based on the age and quility of the cartoon. It does say it was restored and remastered.

If you put garbage in a can and write "fresh" on the label, it's still rotting garbage inside. The Bluray of this movie is just terrible. It sucks that this movie will be neglected like this.

Uh, no. It is without a doubt one of the worst Blu-rays on the market, and that's not hyperbole.

Only buy it if you like burning money because that's exactly what you would be doing.
