Eureka -- Season 4 Premiere -- "Founder's Day" -- 07/09/10
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
James Callis from Battlestar Galactica joins the cast.
Season 4 is going to be 20-22 episodes and of course it's going to be a split season. It looks like at least 11 will air this year.
Always had a soft spot for this show. Mostly watched it on DVD, but will try to watch it regularly this season.

So I've caught up from season 1 to the first half of season 3. Is there anything major that happened in the second half of season 3 that should cause me to sit on this until I can get all the way caught up. I know it's not really a hugely serialized show, so I'm guessing there's nothing really important that I should get caught up with first.

hmmmmm maybe. Something kind of big happens that will probably be spoiled for you. On the other hand if you aren't huge on the show it won't matter. I personally wouldn't care and I like the show. It isn't as big as Sark or whatever his name was dying.

Did Tess leave Jack at the end of last season? I thought it ended with her giving him tickets to Australia.
But the opening "last season" montage showed stuff that went on last season, and then her breaking up with him. Was the breaking up the start of this episode, or the last season montage? Wasn't super clear to me.

I was confused about Tess too. I just re-watched last season's finale a week ago and it did indeed end with her giving him tickets to Australia.

I'm only a casual fan of the show. I have all the DVD's and watch them sporatically. But, I decided to go ahead and watch season 4 live and I enjoyed the premiere alot. I love the humor and whimsical tone of the show.
For those who haven't really watched the show weekly in the past, it was pretty easy to pick up what was happening and get into the plot as long as you know who all these characters are.
It looks to me like they are setting up a new arc with everything screwed up now in Eureka because of the time traveling debacle. I like how they brought Callis' character Dr. Grant into present day Eureka.
The set design and costumes for 1947 Eureka were well done. I liked how it had a very film-noirish look. The thing that I was really surprised to see was Callis speaking with an American accent. I liked how he kept staring at Allison's ass and made the comment..."The nurse with the nice yams"
Fargo making up that story with him arriving naked in the Terminator bubble was hilarious and speaking like Arnold.
Glad to see Jaime Ray Newman back.
Jo in the wife beater at the beginning.
Looking forward to this season. This is a fun Friday show.

Yeah this was pretty good. I was wondering where that black kid was all this time. Thought he fell down a wormhole or something since he never came up in the last season.

I really like the opening sequence with the 40's theme instead of the standard opening. Very nice touch!

Fun episode. Hope they take advantage of the changed timelime bit for a few episodes and not just reset to zero after the second week. And yes, Salli Richardson-Whitfield is definitely easy on the eyes.

Well considering James Callis is a series regular and his character Dr. Grant got transported forward to 2010 Eureka, it looks to me like they are making this arc last a full season rather than a few episodes.

The wife and me started watching this show last week and were able to finish the last (3.5) season last night at midnight. So we had to watch this episode since it was already in our DVR.
Really nice episode, this is a fun series, nothing really big, but it's nice to have something like this to watch in the summer.
