Thank You BN.com and UPS - Now My Package is Good as Gone
I just sent this letter to BN.com
Seeing as this is a $93 dollar set, I am extremely pissed off right now. I called UPS, and they can't do a thing for me. The driver HAS to leave it outside my door.
I am writing to complain about BN's service and what I feel is false advertising.
I am very unhappy at BN.com's decision to eliminate the member discount and replace it with free express shipping. For one thing, I feel this is false advertising. I paid $25 a year ago in exchange for the promise of a full year's worth of member discounts. You eliminated these discounts in exchange for a promise of express shipping.
My order did not ship express, in my opinion. I am told that I will not receive this item until Friday, a full FOUR days since it was mailed out via UPS. Even worst, this shipping upgrade does not require UPS signature. I will be out of town, and therefore, it is likely that my package will be stolen thanks to your new policies. The shipping time has not increased one bit over your previous times.
As a loyal customer, I feel like BN.com has betrayed my trust. As a result, I will never renew my membership, and continue taking my business to Amazon instead.

1st rule of writing an angry letter: use proper grammar and punctuation.
2nd rule of writing an angry letter: don't complain about something that hasn't happened yet (your package being stolen)

I see this all the time so I'm going to ask...why do people order something online knowing they are going to be out of town within the delivery period?

Every package I've gotten from BN since they changed their policy has come from UPS, and has required a signature.

I had this pre-ordered for weeks so I had no idea when it would ship. Amazon's express shipping gives me the item on release date, but lousy BN.com only ships out on release date.

It sounds like the issue isn't with BN.com but with living in a neighborhood so terrible that you assume all packages will be stolen.

And even if they still require a signature, you'd be out of town anyway and after a few tries they give up and send it back to the shipper.

You can request that they leave it at the local UPS office for pickup though. They just have to make an initial delivery attempt. I've done this before.

Second, because English must not be your first language, when something is "mailed" it is sent via the US Postal Service. When something is sent via UPS, it is shipped, not mailed out.
Even worst, this shipping upgrade does not require UPS signature.

Ok, couple things. First, the most obvious, is "Oh, teh noes! I have to wait. I'm an impatient bastard with an inflated sense of entitlement and I want my stuff now!"
Second, because English must not be your first language, when something is "mailed" it is sent via the US Postal Service. When something is sent via UPS, it is shipped, not mailed out.
You meant to say even worse. In the English language, "even worst" is not correct. If you have this much trouble with the language, why in the world are you sharing it with people in a public forum, where you will be subject to ridicule for showing how poorly your education has served you? You should be embarrassed and perhaps might want to refrain from visiting the internet again.

And what is with all the internet nerds jumping on the OP? He feels he got the shaft, and is just trying to vent.

I kid.
Though, in that situation, it is nice that they will reattempt delivery the next business day. Just sucks that it happened to be the Firday before a three day weekend.
