Can't believe this season is already ending. Looks good.

IPS has not been renewed for another season yet.

Me neither! It seems like it just came back.

Let's hope the network feels more confident in the show after the changes. I thought this season was much better than the second.

You could tell this was a rush job for the finale, since they shoe-horned Steven Weber into the show at the beginning and end. I think they should just add him as a regular, and then you could intertwine FBI and US Marshalls stuff.

Nice finale to a solid season - much improved over last season. I liked the the scene near the end where the priest gave last rites to the hitman. The priest was Joe Spano, right? He did a great job.

I liked this finale as it did not end in the cliche cliffhanger so if it does not get renewed (which would make me a sad panda) then there would be no major unresolved storylines.

Yup, that was him.

I agree. While I'll also agree with Deftones' theory of tossing Steven Weber in there at the last minute, I found that to be a suitable ending if the show does not return. Mary has clearly made some changes in her life for the better - whether she'd admit that or not.

If it DOES return, I hope they manage to get Weber back as a more frequently recurring character since both Jinx and Brandi have had their roles pretty severely reduced.

I didn't realize this was the finale until I read this thread. I liked the episode but knowing it was the finale lowers my opinion of the season as a whole. It felt like they were spinning their wheels on a couple of fronts (Brandi, the Brother, Weber to a lesser extent) but didn't go anywhere this season.

Re: In Plain Sight -- Season Finale -- "A Priest Walks Into a Bar" -- 06/30/10

Finally finished up the last few episodes of IPS a couple of nights ago. Overall, a pretty good and definitely improved season over season 2. I felt season 3 was more about change in Mary's life and us as the viewer getting more inside her head hence her voiceovers in each episode. But, it still wasn't perfect, there were alot of really dull episodes. For example, episode 10 that dealt with the woman with Aspergers was probably one of the dullest episodes of the entire season. I also hated the inclusion of the half brother. That and Brandi's stupidity just dragged the show down. I did love the episode where she helped the homeless guy find his father and the episode where Mary helped the teenage girl.

I agree with what most mentioned here that Weber's appearance seemed to be added on at the beginning and end at the last minute. Since the season was originally supposed to be 16 episodes, I assume this episode was written a little differently. The case was definitely interesting and I liked Joe Spano as the conflicted Priest. Now that Mary appears to have made some changes in her life and is now with Weber's character, I see some interesting potential if there is a season 4. If not, I think there was a good amount of closure at the end.

BTW, it was really good seeing Mary in a more relaxed setting at the end, especially in the sun dress other than the usual leather jacket, t-shirt and jeans.

Just found this episode on my TIVO last night. Not sure how it got missed.

I enjoyed this episode. I will miss it if it does not return. I lived in Albuquerque for several years and love seeing things I recognize.

I LOVE Mary's vacation choice.

Good news.

As you posted upthread, the show has its flaws, but I think this past season had much more good than bad. I hope they stick with the same showrunner.

I actually sent Mary a note on her Twitter page congratulating her on the renewal and she actually replied back. She's so fricking cool.
