I haven't seen any of the movies, not interested in them in the least...but I am painfully aware of this pop culture phenomenon.
I will predict a 158 million 5 day gross.

Remember, The Last Airbender comes out on Thursday and Paramount has been burning money throwing $150 million (plus) as part of its P&A budget to combat Eclipse.
Wednesday: $75 million.
Thursday: $32 million.
Friday: $43 million.
Saturday: $26 million.
Sunday: $18 million.
$194 million five-day weekend ($87 million within the three-day).
Second weekend? I'm estimating nothing over $35-40 million.

I think it will start pulling away pre-teens who might see Eclipse a second (or third) time, but didn't you see what I crossed out? I honestly think that Last Airbender will be DOA. Nobody cares about M. Night anymore and they're five years too late on producing a film version.
For those who remember New Moon's trend:
Friday-to-Saturday: 43% drop (not normal).
Saturday-to-Sunday: 35% drop (normal).
First Weekend-to-Second Weekend: 70% drop (yikes).
Second Weekend-to-Third Weekend: 64% drop (yikes).
The film didn't level out with consistent 30-40% drops until weekend four, but the damage was already done. I think Eclipse has a shot making $300 million (unfortunately) due to the rabid (can never get a good cock inside of them) females who are anticipating this sequel just based off my Facebook and Twitter feeds alone, but this bitch is going to drop hard in weekend number two.

New Moon was front-loaded, but it was also a bad movie. I've heard that this film is the best* of the three.

I didn't care for either of those movies, but at least they were professionally made and nicely shot.
This excerpt from Ebert's 2 star review of Eclipse made me laugh:
sounds like a winner
This excerpt from Ebert's 2 star review of Eclipse made me laugh:
Much leads up to a scene in a tent on a mountaintop in the midst of a howling blizzard, when Bella's teeth start chattering. Obviously a job for the hot-blooded Jacob and not the cold-blooded Edward, and as Jacob embraces and warms her, he and Edward have a cloying cringe fest in which Edward admits that if Jacob were not a werewolf, he would probably like him, and then Jacob admits that if Edward were not a vampire -- well, no, no, he couldn't. Come on, big guy. The two of you are making eye contact. Edward's been a confirmed bachelor for 109 years. Get in the brokeback spirit.

Re: Predict "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" opening 5 day gross
Our local theatre is having the midnight shows in all 16 auditoriums and at last check 11 of them were sold out.
This is considered by most fans the best of the books and if the movie meets their expectations, I can picture the teenage girls (and their moms) going back for repeat viewings in the next few weeks.
So if it is good (or at least the obsessive fans think it is good), it may not have as big a drop as New Moon.

I saw it last night (calm down, it was for work) and we had watched the first two this weekend to get ready for it. It's easily the best of the three and the tweener girls (and their horny moms) went batshit for it. It'll have huge numbers.

Shouldn't this be opening 6 days? The 4th of July is on a Sunday this year meaning it will be largely observed on Monday as a holiday (businesses, schools).

$194 million is what I predict. largest five day opening ever. I know from my wife that this is her favorite book, as is my sister-in-law. With myself and my Brother-in-law watching our kids respectively, they'll probably see it again in the same weekend.

Well, the local theater sold out all 16 auditoriums for the midnight showings and has started adding shows at 2:45 am.

This will have a insane opening. School is out which means lots of trips to the theater. The wife has told me that she and everyone else considers Eclipse to be the best book of the entire series. So if that is the case, this movie should do bonkers.
