ABC ordered 13 episodes.
I'm going to give this a look, but not expecting it to be good. A couple of decent actresses on the cast.

Outside of cable, Sunday's are pretty dry on network TV in the summer. Tonight it's competing against a Cold Case and Law and Order: CI repeat. I can see this getting a decent sampling for episode 1.

Since I don't have cable, they are new to me.

Looking forward to this. Rona Mitra annoys me; but the odd thing is I had no interest in seeing this until I realized she's in it.

So far I'm liking it. It's like "True Blood" without all the nudity and fuckin'...
That said, in all honesty...I give it one season based on ABC's record of dumping shows I like.

Actually, it's more of a monster mash - Vampires & werewolves & witches, oh my...
I thought it was pretty interesting. I'll probably keep watching until they pull the plug.

pretty good for a summer show... they did not waste anytime as far as laying out story lines and finding out this or that person is a vampire or whatever. Better first ep then the show Eastwick and Happy Town at least, IMO..
worth checking out if the idea of show with a Desperate Housewives vibe + vampires and who knows what else supernatural theme wise is interesting to a person at all.. being as I said, they hit the ground running store line wise. Unlike DHW that takes 1/2 the season to set up a conflict and then the rest of the season to kind of solve it.
I also like the idea of the -fish out of water- being the "normal" people who move in Vs the more typical plot point of having a strange sort of family move into an area..
I'll keep watching but as others have said, I have no faith in networks leaving shows on the air anymore.

I thought it was okay. Not sure if will keep watching.
pulled in 4.65 million viewers, I don't think that's too bad, but it'll have to hold those numbers.
I still liked Defying Gravity better.

According to this press release, ABC sounds happy with the debut numbers. I'll check out the Pilot later today or tonight after work.

Saw this before I went to work today. I actually liked it alot more than I thought I would. It had a much darker tone than the promos were leading us to believe. Actually I have to say that ABC's promos for this show sucked and I can understand why someone wouldn't be automatically attracted to watching it. I like Rhona Mitra, but she seems to act in the same style in every one of her films and TV shows. I'm actually surprised that didn't make her American in this show. Frank Grillo and Marisol Nichols were IMO a believable couple. ^^ I agree with an earlier comment that it has a Desperate Housewives vibe + Werewolves, Vampires and Witches.
I didn't really like the guy playing Mitra's husband. I think someone like a Paul Blackthorne would have been a better choice (although I think I may have seen him in that opening teaser in some other role)

I like how Rhona is out of control and struggling. Not that we haven't had our fill of vamps struggling with what they are, but for some reason I like seeing Rhona suffer. J/k. But seriously, she seems to pull the tortured vamp off well.

The pilot dragged for me. Hopefully the show will pickup. Thus far, I don't really feel the Desperate Housewives vibe, as this show doesn't have the dark humor Housewives has. It's nothing like True Blood other than the fact it has Vampires and Werewolves.
It's better than Happy Town, I'll say that much. And I did like the revelation at the end of the episode, though you could see it coming a mile away. It does leave hope that the show will have something worthwhile. Well, something other than eye candy...

I agree with Giantrobo - RM has, in my admittedly flaky memory, played the stereotypical bad ass, hard as nails chick who seems to be trying to out-man the men in the room in terms of disposition and action (e.g., I'm convinced Kiva in SG:U was written expressly for her). I think it's rather refreshing to see a vulnerable RM.
Regarding the the pilot - I'll give it a few episodes, but it's got a long ways before it catches up to The Vampire Diaries (which, I'll grant you, took a few episodes before it took off).

Thought it was super boring and pretty sloppy. Nowhere near as 'guilty pleasure' entertaining as Eastwick or the so bad it's good Happy Town. I'll give the next episode a shot but I found it stupid.

This. It certainly would be toast if it had been in a regular primetime line up. I cared even less about the characters after the episode than I did when it started. If everyone knows there's supernatural stuff going on, why hide it from the new sheriff? I mean isn't he going to eventually get into the middle of something anyway?

Not bad, but I don't think ABC is doing it any favors airing it right after True Blood.
Also, I don't get the vampire mythology. In the first scene a slight sliver of sunlight burns her leg. Then the next day she's bringing the police chief's wife cookies in broad daylight.

I thought it was good enough to stick around until the next episode. So far I am much more interested in the vampire housewife than Teen wolf.
