Johnny won the Golden Fiddle, this we know, but who here goes against the grain and thought the Devil's solo was far superior to Johnny's?

Yeah, but the devil had a band of demons helping him. That seems unfair for a solo.

Okay, I heard it, and basically, johnny's solo wasn't much of a solo, all he did was the parts on the chorus and the extended version of the riff. He didn't do the fiery trill that the devil did, so, what the hell??

Does anyone else remember the radio edit of this song that replaced "son of a bitch" with "son of a gun?" I remember a NY station often playing the cleaner version in the daytime and the uncensored one in the evening.

I like the Old Scratch's solo better in Primus' version.

Yes, Johnny may have been a "winning" fiddler, but apparently he was too much of a nice boy to cuss on AM radio!

It was the band of demons bassline that rocked, I don't even remember the solo.

It was on sale from shirt.woot a while back; I bought one as a gift back then, but it doesn't look like it's available any more:

Thankfully Bobby took him down as well to prove human superiority:

Charlie Daniels is a kick ass guitarist, but the guy is a rather half ass fiddler.
I grew up in the world of Bluegrass music, and I've seen and heard 6 year old kids who could run circles around him.

Don't forget that the devil came back for a rematch, when poor Johnny was tired with a newborn:

Skip to 8:25 and you'll see why she'd smoke these two:

She was actually doing that because she had done that previously in a talent show while hula-hooping, and she was trying to do the same thing without the hoop. If you see the whole clip and the rest of that particular show (Danish show titled "Den 11 time" -The 11th hour- ) it's put into proper perspective.
I just like that she can play a different style of fiddle besides classical.

Better example of a champ without the funny movements:
