Went to Walmart today to pick up a 360 arcade to replace my launch unit that RRed yesterday. Heard that the existed units were getting a price drop of $50.00 starting today with the anouncement of the xbox slim. Thought it would be a good deal ($150.00 plus $50.00 gift card). When I went to buy it it rang up at $200.00. I told the clerk about the price drop and that all the other stores had reduced the price. He said he knew about it but that they would not be dropping the price. Guess it's off to Target to see if they will PM the Walmart ad for the $50.00 gift card. Anyone have any similar experences today with Walmart or Target?

I actually went to Walmart and bought an Arcade for a gift last night before knowing about the impending drop. I went back this morning to get the price adjusted (return/rebuy). The manager had apparently covered the price drop in their morning meeting and they refunded me $50+tax without batting an eye.

Walmart is a huge corporation, probably takes time to get the price reduction rolled out to all their stores.

Walmart's website now shows the arcade for $150.00. I would guess the B&M store price would now be $150.00 also.

Not only $150, but it also includes a $50GC and 2 games.

I don't exactly have the cash laying around, especially with an upcoming vacation on the horizon, but I really like that deal. I couldn't give two shits about those particular games, but that price coupled with the GC is a pretty attractive offer.

Now Amazon is also matching that deal. So free shipping and no tax for most people as well.
