DVD Talk review of 'Texas Lightning'
I read Ian Jane's DVD review of Texas Lightning at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=20760 and...
Based on every review of it I read I watched this movie expecting utter crap. Imagine my surprise when not only was it not crap it was actually quite a good movie. I think you inadvertently put your finger on the problem when you said the movie fails as a comedy or an action movie or a suspence film. In fact it sets out to be none of the three. It's a study of brainless redneck machismo and as such it succeeds perfectly while managing to throw in a few surprises along the way. A second viewing of this movie with a more open mind, judging it for what it is and not for what you expected it to be, might be more rewarding.
