The Good Guys -- "Broken Door Theory" -- 06/14/10

The Good Guys

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Jack and Dan are assigned to investigate a damaged vending machine at an upscale hotel. When the case leads them to a high-class prostitution ring and a grisly murder, the detectives suddenly find themselves in the middle of a homicide investigation.

Airing-wise, this is episode 3 of 20 (if it makes it that far)

As mentioned last week, apparently they are airing episodes of out order.

This is actually episode 4 in the production order.

Are the ratings not so hot or something? I thought they already shot all 20 episodes? Why wouldn't they air them? It's summer burn-off time anyway.

No, it's not exactly "Just Summer burnoff" FOX ordered 13 episodes for the summer, but extended it to 20, so new episodes supposedly will continue to air in the Fall. It's going to move to Friday nights with Human Target in the Fall. The ratings have not been anything to jump for joy about. It's barely getting over 4M viewers and considering the amount of promotion it's been getting, it's disappointing.

Matt Nix, the creator of this and Burn Notice, is double dipping working on this show and Burn Notice simultaneously this summer. I'm not 100% sold on this show yet, although last week's episode was much more entertaining than the Pilot.

Saw this for the first time tonight and really liked it. Bradley Whitford is a riot. I can see why it's not getting great ratings, though - it has an offbeat vibe. Hope it can last the whole 20 eps.

I love this show. Funny seeing Whitford hit on every female they come across while on the job.

Same here. Kristen errrr Kiersten (Lauren Stamile) made last weeks episode great.

Re: The Good Guys -- "Broken Door Theory" -- 06/14/10

While watching Whitford sniffle, blow his nose and hock lugies got tired after a while, him making out with the blond who smashed the candy machine at the end was a hilarious payoff.

I'm enjoying it well enough. I really like the "30 seconds earlier" mini-flashback thing they do. I am admittedly a little confused when it comes to Jack and Dan's backstories though. The reference stuff just enough to make you say "huh?" since everything is happening out of order...

I'm really enjoying this show. I hope FOX airs the full 20 episodes. I think the humour is spot on and the action is over-the-top fun.

I got a good laugh at the "32 Years Earlier" flashback, lol.
