Ondine (Neil Jordan, 2010)

This is a lovely modern fairy tale of sorts. I caught it today on HDnet Movies and loved every minute of it. They're going to repeat it tonight at 10 and then at 12.

Jason Bailey's review

Trailer

Colin Farrell is great in this and I adored Alison Barry as his daughter. Alicja Bachleda (as Ondine) has a great enigmatic and wonderfully enchanting presence about her. I'd love to see more from her.

When I saw the thread title, I got all excited for a bio-pic of Warhol Superstar Ondine.

I DVR'd this the other day and just watched it. Lovely little movie.

I couldn't agree more, and I'll add that Stephen Rea as the priest is terrific also.

Alison Barry steals the show, and this is one cute movie. Very well done.

How could I forget about Stephen Rea? He was great. I would have liked a scene or two more with him.

FWIW, it earned two "Skip It" votes from the At the Movies critics.

One of my all-time favorite movies is "The Secret of Roan Inish", and this movie sounds very similar, although I haven't heard any comparisons mentioned in the reviews I've read. Anybody who's seen both have any thoughts on that?

Which only cements why I hate those two fools. Just saw this today for the first time. BEAUTIFUL film. Wonderful.

I missed it in theaters, but caught it on an airplane a few months back. One of my favorite flicks of the year. Really lovely.

I rented this and couldn't finish onl because I couldn't understand a word of it and the dvd doesn't have subtitles.
