it had a small theatrical release in arthouse theaters but thats about it. Prob since the subject is kind of sex drugs and rock and roll (including Fanning), is one of the reasons why none of the bigger studios wanted to release it

Man, that is some terrible artwork. That washed out background is the worst. I really wanted to see this in theaters, but it got dumped in the mid-major market near me almost a month after its initial limited debut and I never got around to seeing it. Definitely getting this on Netflix.

I should receive my copy today. I'm having a movie party next weekend to drink beers and show the film to my friends. Before the movie, I'll be playing a DVD I have of the real Runaways on tour in Japan 1977.

I liked this flick quite a bit.

Was the movie as horribly despressing as Cherie's book? That's just about the only book I regret ever reading. Out of 300+ pages, only one good thing happened in the whole book! (and it was to her mom!)

Yes, there's never really any "high point" in the film. IMO would have been more worthwhile following Joan Jett instead of Cherie
