Well, i've heard people call the computer the CPU, most recently i saw it here:

Me, when i say CPU, i refer to the microprocessor.

What about you?

Either one, depending on who I'm talking with.

My old boss used to refer to her computer tower as the "hard drive". As in, "I put the CD in my hard drive and it didn't play" or "Can we move the hard drive to the other side of the desk?" And whenever I would properly use the term "hard drive" she would get confused. No matter how many times I tried to explain the difference and correct her terminology she just didn't get it.

Been there, done that. Have the psychiatrist's bills to prove it.

Both, depending on context.

Calling the computer tower/box/whatever the "CPU" is for computer noobs and people who are still confused on the difference between memory and hard drive space.
