DVD Talk review of 'The Three Stooges Collection - Volume Eight: 1955-1959'
I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of The Three Stooges Collection - Volume Eight: 1955-1959 at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=43112 and...
From the review: "However...I did notice in Commotion on the Ocean, at 2:19, a fade-out to black, and fade-up, that seemed out of character with the editing of the rest of the shorts here."
That doesn't appear to be abnormal. The same thing happens at 2:19 from this TV copy via YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15SmmiO_RQA ... I have never heard of that short missing any footage.
The different hairstyles in the Besser-era was Besser's brainchild. According to his autobiography, Besser thought the slicked back hairstyles would make the team look more gentlemanly. In a 1970's interview with Tom Bergeron, Moe said the reaction to the slicked back hairstyle "wasn't good."
