'Haute Tension'

Great little French slasher.

Haute Tension

Ah, once again too slow.

Thanks guys, I have been meaning to see it for awhile but never got around to it after I had the ending spoiled for me. Oh well.

Re: What horror movie is this from?

Why would that stop you when it's generally accepted that the ending was the low point?

Re: What horror movie is this from?

My two cents...

If you are a a genre fan in anyway you should absolutely see it. The ending, which actually isn't as nonsensical as a lot people seem to say IMHO, is pretty irrelevant to the entire film, which is a just a mean little thriller with a couple stand out set pieces. I mean, it's not a good ending, but the film is pretty tense, violent and overall worth a watch if you are a horror fan.

The ending was spoiled for me, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

I actually really liked this film when I saw it a few years ago, ending and all. Not sure how I would feel about the ending today, though. But I agree that it is a solid genre film, same with Aja's followup, The Hills Have Eyes remake. I wasn't too crazy about Mirrors though, although the concept was sort of interesting, probably because I started finding the gore to be a bit much.

Well, I'll take everyone's word. Just added it to the top of my NF queue.

I agree on all counts. I loved this movie (ending included). Granted the ending doesn't really make that much sense if you think about it, but whatever. Also, The Hills Have Eyes is one of my favorite horror remakes ever.

After seeing these two movies I was telling people Aja was the future of horror. After Mirrors and (the Aja scripted) P2, however, I'm not as sure of that.

I felt like he had a ton of potential too, but I agree that he's slumming a little.

Hills was pretty damn good. Mirrors was terrible. P2 I didn't bother with.

...I am really, really excited for Piranha 3D. Terribly excited, actually.

Though, the trailer isn't super promising and I am a bit biased since I happen to love the original (it's the best 'Jaws clone' with Grizzly in 2nd place).

I'm very excited about Piranha 3D too, although I read somewhere online that due to budget cuts it isn't going to be in 3D anymore? I hope that's not true. I also loved Hills Have Eyes, I think it was done so well, especially since I was furious about hearing they were remaking it in the first place.

Re: What horror movie is this from?

I don't give a shit what anyone says.....Haute Tension was a well made film....yeah, it got a little goofy towards the end but the movie as a whole is definitely worth watching.
