You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (Woody Allen, 2010): Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin
From Ropes of Silicon:
Sony Pictures Classics has released the first two images from Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and set a release date of September 23rd for the film that is sure to vie for Oscar contention.
The film stars Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Antonio Banderas and Lucy Punch and was shot in London re-teaming the writer/director with financier, Mediapro, the Spain-based company which also funded Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which earned Penelope Cruz a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2009.
The title comes from an early scene where a lonely woman (Watts) consults with a gypsy fortune teller who predicts that she will meet the love of her life, but the only synopsis I have been supplied by the studio reads:
A little romance, some sex, some treachery and apart from that, a few laughs. The lives of a group of people whose passions, ambitions and anxieties force them all into assorted troubles that run the gamut from ludicrous to dangerous.
Vilmos Zsigmond served as Allen's cinematographer for the third time on this film (Melinda and Melinda and Cassandra's Dream) and told Hollywood News the following about the shoot: "There were no storyboards, Woody and I spoke about how he wanted to cover each scene, and then did a rehearsal. We shot at least 98 percent of the film with one 35 mm Panavision film camera that was frequently on a Steadicam following the actors. It wasn't unusual for us to do three minute takes in one shot with Woody standing next to the camera experiencing the film the way audiences will see it."

Considering he spends very little time with a film, most of them are quite good. Only a few that I didn't care for. 'Anything Else', anyone? (I have seen people defend it, and I don't think its terrible, but Jason Biggs was a terrible choice, although I love Ricci).
Always ready to see a new Allen project.

I have liked most of Allen's recent output and the switch in filming locations overseas appears to have rejuvenated him. I think Curse of the Jade Scorpion is severely underated. But anyway, this one looks to have a great cast and an interesting storyline.

That actually does look pretty decent, even if the reviews from Cannes were less than stellar.

Looks like something I'll watch 1st weekend. Josh Brolin looks old in that 1st pic for some reason.

Looks like fun... but, uh oh, is that narrator from Vicky Christina Barcelona back? Hopefully that's just for the trailor... because, as much as I loved VCB, I found the narration jarring and annoying. Kind of like I was listening to an audiobook.

Ouch, that's some awful narration. I sincerely hope that's not in the movie.
