NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.co...ls-heroes.html

Hollywood Reporter is reporting it, so this is as official as it gets. No further details at the moment. All I can say is "Thank God!!"

Question, I have yet to finish the last 5 eps of season 4. Does it end with any sense of closure or no?

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

The story just updated. There is a little more details. No short season or 2 hour wrap up movie either. It's done.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

No closure at all, just introducing a possible storyline for next season which will never be made.

That combined with a terrible ending to the whole samuel story which had potential and ended up being possibly the worst season out fo the 4.

Thank god! I really felt like this show took a huge shit after season 1 and never got back on track. I gave up a few episodes into season 3 and realized I couldnt deal with it anymore.

I endured season 2, and dropped it after a couple episodes into season 3. It won't be missed.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed with it. I can't believe how much of a mess they made after a superb first season.

This is the absolute worst collapse in quality between seasons I've ever seen in a show I followed (heroes s1 & s2), the only worst was in Lost (s2 / S3). Had to give up on Lost midway S3, I was gonna throw my TV out the window.

And that it lasted four seasons after such a huge collapse is a miracle.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

Season 2 was a disaster mainly because it was cut short because of the writer's strike.

Season 3 was mixed for me. I still remember the 1 hour clip show prior to that season premiere where everyone on the cast promised it was going to be a great premiere and season. I absolutely hated the Villains arc, but thought Fugitives arc was somewhat better.

Could never really get into Redemption in season 4 even though I endured 75% of the season.

No it was a disaster mainly due to shitty writing.

Even though it's cancled it will still likely get a wrap up movie (either to air on TV or DTV). Universal will want something to give the series closure to sell into Syndication.

I actually think it could've been worse if it wasn't cut short. I believe the main problem with the show started in season 2 when they went against their original plan and kept almost all the characters from the first season and shoehorned them into storylines they had no business being in. They should've kept Peter and HRG and maybe a few others and recruit a team. A few characters should've died for good from the season one finale, others should've become recurring characters, and some should've been shelved for a while. The people in charge of this show failed miserably. This show was a phenomenon and they colossally fucked it up.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

Good. I canceled it myself after season 1. This has to be some record for fastest drop of quality and popularity for a show. The first season you couldnt turn on a TV without hearing about Heroes. And then season 2 nothing. Sad to see this was allowed to chug along while other shows NBC canceled or constantly threatened.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

I got season one for free and never cracked it open. Is it worth even trying to give this show a shot on DVD if I never seen an episode provided they are ending it like this?

Season 1 was really good, but if I remember correctly many in this forum were horrendously disappointed with the season finale. It also ends on a cliffhanger leading into season 2.

I say don't even bother.

Can't say I'll miss it.

My TV viewing will be greatly reduced next fall with all the current shows I watch ending or being cancelled.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

At least this show began to suck quite early on, allowing viewers to drop it. Lost, on the other hand, saved it's monumental suckiness for the last few episodes of the entire series, quite possibly cheapening most things that came before it. I say good riddance to both programs. And who the hell knew 2 months ago that I'd be itching for more 24 next season and happy about Lost never coming back? Whoops, rong thread.

Glad I dropped it when I did. Too bad that a show with so much potential and so much buzz died such a miserable death.

Re: NBC Officially Cancels Heroes

I missed the first season of this and regretted it at the time. I was considering getting it on DVD to catch up. Needless to say I'm glad I didn't. Sucks for the folks who were into it.
