The new Ultraman movie from Japan is available on DVD and blu-ray (a total of three different versions). It actually looks visually pretty good. I'm not expecting much with a story. As long as it makes sense and isn't boring, that's all I care about with Japanese genre flicks. It's got the look of how a Silver Surfer or a Superman/Darkseid movie should look. The movie is directed by the Power Rangers director. It certainly looks like more cinematic than tv at least!
The DVD and blu-ray is sold at yesasia for a small fortune. I'll probably just buy the DVD.
The DVD is anamorphic, DD 5.1 Japanese, and has English subtitles.
