FlashForward -- "The Negotiation" -- 05/13/10

Flash Foward

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
It's April 28 - the day before the prophesized flashforward date - and as the world waits to see if their future visions will come true, Mark must do everything in his power to protect Gabriel (James Callis, "Battlestar Galactica"), who is the bridge between Dyson Frost and the Global Blackout; Aaron locates his daughter's captors and puts his life on the line in order to rescue her; Janis is tasked with killing a fellow agent; and Simon comes face to face with the head of the nefarious organization that may be responsible for the blackout.

The story for "The Negotiation" was by Debbie Ezer, and the teleplay by Byron Balasco & Quinton Peeples. Leslie Libman directed.

Episode 20 of 22. I'm actually looking forward to this. As I mentioned in last week's thread, the 2nd half of this season has been quite good.

I like James Callis from Battlestar Galactica, but I think he was miscasted as this "Rain Man" person.

Janis has actually grown into a really interesting supporting character. I loved the twist with her being a double agent.

I watch out of a sense of duty anymore. I won't miss this show.

I won't miss it either whether or not it gets renewed, which is unlikely. There is plenty of other things to watch to keep me entertained. I'm just saying it's actually grown into a pretty solid serial drama, especially with the 2nd half episodes.

I thought so too when it first came back, but the last 2 or 3 have kinda lost me again. But with only 2 more after tonight, it's easy to finish out.

I really like about 3/4 or this show. I hate the father and whenever the scene switches to him it drains the energy out of the show. Definitely needs more Janis.

The bearded father looking for his missing daughter in Afghanistan drags the show down...I agree with that.

I also hate Olivia or Penny with Simcoe. But, I like Mark & Demetri, Bryce & Nicole & that Japanese chick and of course Janis.

I like Jane with Bryce also but Bryce is a bore in any scene she isn't in with him.

I didn't like the father stuff at first with the constant AA talk but they wasted a great opportunity to have him be a badass when they gave him the submachine guns only to not shoot anyone and have to be rescued.

There's some great ideas in the show but it's been terribly executed; that was the same problem with V for a bit but they finally figured out what they wanted to do as opposed to the meandering that has happened in Flash Forward.

EW.com is reporting that ABC has cancelled FlashForward. I'm sticking it out and seeing how they finish.

Yeah, this episode is a prime example of why this show is getting canned: nothing major happens and the plot retreads over the same crap. We get it, Demitiri wasn't supposed to live and Sonya and Simco were supposed to be together, no need for the 1000th reiteration of those plot devices.

Sorta glad it got cancelled, there's really nowhere else for this show to go. I'll finish out the final two and move on.

Re: FlashForward -- "The Negotiation" -- 05/13/10

I complained a lot about this series, I was ready to drop it mid season but stayed because my wife was watching it. In a couple of episodes I even took nap in the middle!

But I have really liked the last 3 episodes or so, so I'm a little bit sad about it ending. But at the same time I'm not sure if the writers/producers had any idea on how to continue this show.

Apparently they're going to try to rework the final episodes to present some sort of closure.

I would think they have to now. Jericho had a similar scenario a couple of years ago in season 2 when they weren't sure if they were getting a 3rd season going into the finale so they shot 2 different endings and once it was canned, they aired the ending with some closure.

Re: FlashForward -- "The Negotiation" -- 05/13/10

Watched this episode tonight and for the most part it was a transitional episode going into next week with the big April 29th prophecy.

Janis is easily my favorite character on this show. I've never heard of Christine Woods prior to her being cast on this show, but she's done a good job make Janis a sympathetic character torn with her loyalty to the FBI & her undercover assignment. Wasn't surprised to see that Mark finally caught on to her suspicious behavior. They never really addressed it, but considering how much Demetri has been hounding her about the baby, I assume that he's the father and they actually had sex in Sudan earlier this season? Gabrielle Union annoys the crap out of me. Hate Zoe with a passion

Aaron's storyline with his daughter really adds nothing to the show. So he rescues her and they walk into the room where they were at in the Flashforward. Now what?

I never looked at Annabeth Gish as hot, but man she was actually looking kinda good in this episode. I didn't get why the needed to add the big ass tatoo on her back. Plus, she actually did it with Charlie...Campos...Yuck!!
